thought it might be fun to poke at folks who have these "totally 'copyrighted' original OC's DO NOT STEAL" and the drama they create.

i found this one searching for cwc content where the op claims they will make their rival "the next cwc" because of their copyright infringements

It seems like there's an inverse relationship between how creative someone is and how much they fear having their work "stolen".
 
Does the character in question have to be terrible AND have current drama around them or can they just be bad? I don't want to shitpost.
 
I recall one joined dA as a "senshi" dedicated to "slapping art theives" and posting angry tirades about how so many different apparently harmless acts are copyright infringement and crimes. They also founded an "army" dedicated to hunting down art "theft."

Naturally they attracted negative attention, and they quit dA after stepping back from being a "dramawhore" about copyright.

The dude who made Brineary is leaving Deviantart because of Drama he basically stirred up. He hasn't gotten mad at me for using Brineary as a main antagonist in a story I'm working on. My artwork is crap, total crap but I upload it to Deviantart anyway. Brineary is the perfect foil to his creator. A sleazy scumbag, pompous, arrogant, and all around a special snowflake.
In my wattpad story I cited the copyright and made it clear that I was not violating it. So if he does come after me, he can't do anything to stop me. Besides it's fanart. Last I checked fanart is not copyrightable unless it is later accepted as canon by the official creator. I could be wrong about that though.
 
Not only does this stuff exist on Deviantart but Tumblr as well. Tumblr is far worse though. FAR FAR WORSE! I actually deleted my account because of this kind of drama. May make a random thread about shit on tumblr regarding artists if one doesn't exist already.
