Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Framed and signed cereal box. Kept for 9 years. A fucking cereal box

View attachment 5952555I'm not wholly against maximalism as an interior design aesthetic but maximalism this ain't, this is just bleak.
That's not even an example of the aesthetic, honestly. It's just a cope for their hoarding. No consideration or creativity went into that.

This is the maximalist aesthetic

Even if you don't like this style, it's an actual style. It is intentional, thoughtful, and curated. It's not a semi-organized landfill of plastic toys and stickers and stuffed animals.

Did some research, apparently this belongs to a 17 year old FtM (I won't post face pics of a minor) but I almost believed this was the collection of a really unhinged AGP.
Ever met a man into Skate Infinity or Black Butler? I haven't. All that wall needs needs is Bungo Stray Dogs or Tokyo Ghoul and it'll complete some sort of unholy trinity of Shonen/Seinen anime mostly consumed by fujos.

MHA, Voltron, k-pop boyband.. yep, another proof of the fujo to FtM pipeline. Also this Ken on a wheelchair made me lol

I don’t know. Having one of these is kitschy and can be considered art. Now if he goes about obsessively collecting them and buying any signed cereal box immediately without thinking about it, then it’s a problem. There might even be a cool story behind this.

A tech reviewer called an AI device shit. Here's a pretty funny reaction by [product]'s white knight who's mad at him for doing his job by telling the truth.

So what are these? Worst versions of smartphones equipped with an AI that's too slow or gives you the wrong information that could easily be mogged by Siri all for the low price of $800 and a monthly $24 subscription.

So I read the discussion about AI art and then went about my day. Just now in my household an add caught my attention (husband keeps using YouTube on the Roku TV without AdBlock) and it was Alphabet trying to show off AI tools as being this wholesome thing, allowing a little girl to turn a mundane photo into a dragon. It just seemed dystopian to me, even though I don't tend to get hysterical about things. Making shitty drawings and art as a little kid in order to realize my imagination was a huge part of my, our, growing up. Took way too much effort, was all terribly done when I happen upon things stored in shoeboxes, and yet, was not a waste of time. Eye-hand motor skills, observation, imagination stretching. But now, why bother when you can make perfect images in seconds? Yawn, right?
So it doesn't involve physical objects but it just seems so empty, as has been stated. I don't even have a problem with using AI for assistance, I just think it's a problem for beings like us, who are still flesh and bone primates, to completely avoid all challenges and struggles.
Anyway...that's just my thoughts. My kids have access to all the physical art supplies they want and I cherish every weird ass thing they make.
You ready for AI-powered academic dishonesty? You bet your ass alpha gen is going to use Chat GPT for essay writing.
IMO. Most modern day images churned out by the masses isn’t “art.” All the fuckwads I see in real life bitching about AI “art” are the same weirdos that poorly draw Pokémon hentai. They don’t want to improve their skills. They don’t make actual art. They’re not thoughtful or creative. Just endless shitty fan art you’d find in droves on DeviantArt. Literal middle school level drawing skill - no desire to actually improve at all.
I find it interesting you say this because those are the types who are pro-AI.

Tech bros really are some of the most obnoxious consoomer faggots. Always willing to simp for new products no matter how shit they are as long as they have new tech. Back when Google Glass was coming out, these same retards were willing to spend more than a thousand dollars on what was clearly just a prototype.

A teacher friend has already switched to all hand written and in class only. Her eyes are bleeding because these kids have atrocious handwriting though. She says she's just waiting for IEPs demanding AI assist for speds. Must suck to be a teacher in this era.

When it comes to technology the only winning move is not to play. We hit a peak where our intrinsic humanity and tech were in a proper relationship roughly in the mid to late 2000s, and everything afterwards has been either gimmicks or completely worthless and equally harmful surveillance tools under this or that guise. This AI grift is no different. Seriously, just check out from tech. It's meaningless to buy or consume any of it. Many tech companies will probably go under or consolidate to a profound degree in the near future because everything worth inventing and having has already been done. This is why gimmicks like AI, that Apple VR googles shit and so on and on is being pushed by the companies. The gravy train has run out, it actually is over and that's great.

I feel strongly about this. I have an old IBM Thinkpad (R500) from circa 2011 or so with 2Gb of RAM and a Centrino Duo CPU with Linux on it and I sometimes use it just for shits and giggles, and it works perfectly as a multimedia and Internet machine. There is literally no difference whatsoever from my Acer running Ryzen something-something and 16Gb of RAM I bought last year. There is nothing theoretical about this to me. Unless you're a genuine retard who still uses Windows and plays vidya your tech journey is essentially over and AT WORST inexpensive to a profound degree. We're in an Apple situation, the Iphone situation, where only the dumb will "upgrade" like the stupid cattle that they are and buy new hardware when Microsoft or some other grifter company demands it.
