It makes me feel like a bad person when I half expected that this video would have been an April Fool’s joke and the model in question would have turned out to be a man that would have pulled out something very suspect.

These videos are so triggering, almost none of this shit is actual food. Also that top video woman is apparently my age and a "registered dietician" but she looks ten years older even with all that filler. Eat real food, people.
That's something you se a lot in vegans. They always look way older than they actually are and their complexion also tends to be horrible with large pimples and whatnot. I won't flood the thread with it since it is off-topic but if you want to see some really good examples of vegans killing themselves in real time over the span of a couple years there's this series of videos that are a truly fascinating watch. Obviously the video author has an anti-vegan bent but I think the evidence speaks for itself.

It's never bread. Third ingredient in the "garlic bread"-bread is palm oil and it also contains "dough conditioners".
The "butter" is called "Garlic Oil Blend" and is made with "liquid and hydrogenated soybean oil, palm oil, sunflower and soy lecithin".
Thats depresing really. Not even something so mindnumbinly simple is spared from the frankenfood treatment.

Don’t you basically only need B12 if you don’t eat meat? And afaik that is only in meat because the lifestock is fed B12 themselves, since none of the meat we eat has ever seen real grass in its life.
Zinc, calcium, vitamin d , protein deficiencies.
Every person is different, some will need less and somes should just skip veganism entirely and at least eat eggs and tuna.

The stupid thing, or entire point depending how you look at it, about "accidentally vegan" is that they're not made of those things in order to appeal to vegans, they were always frankenfoods for everyone because it's cheaper (or some other crap excuse). Plenty of garlic bread is inherently vegan as long as you aren't ordering it from shitholes like Domino's that nobody, vegan or not, should be eating from with any regularity anyway. I buy a cheap bread made of basically just water and rye which is super traditional to my area and contains no animal products because it doesn't need them. But by and large, the recent push to put the vegan stamp on obviously vegan things like lentils or oils is just marketing. Then again I'm old enough to have read vegan cookbooks and been in vegetarian restaurants in the 90s, when the only way to avoid milk powder in everything was whole foods cooked from scratch, at least in the US and Europe. I don't mean this as arguing against anyone else's point here, I just mean to say these vegans in the thread are the equivalent of nonvegans who eat just as many additives and frankenfoods but never stuff broccoli down their throats.

Here's more "food products" because I'm fascinated by this subject.

This reminds me of the ramen from Cowboy Bebop.

Sparkling water with boba? Bring back Orbitz!

I'm seeing a lot of nootropic drinks these days, people should know they interact with psych meds.

I'm not picking on vegans, by the way, these videos are all from #expowest

This has come up in the HAES thread, but there have even been people who argue that if you're against processed food, then you're ableist and hate handicapped people who can't cut their own veggies.
If anything, though, using people with limited mobility as the face of your pro-crap-food agenda backfires in my eyes because it just tells me you're ok with feeding people crap food just because they don't have the option of cooking.

Exactly, accessibility is when someone with limited mobility gets to have the aforementioned meals made of whole foods. I haven't seen much disparaging of accessibility devices in this thread (though maybe I scrolled right past it), that kind of As Seen On TV "junk" that started as something for the elderly or otherwise disabled and then found a wider market amongst hoarders. In fact, disabled or not, if you need convenience in order to nourish yourself properly, it's better to buy and own a few too many unitasker kitchen gadgets to do the work for you than to keep ordering Mcdonald's. I can understand why some people lean on fast food while lamenting the fact that it's (or at least they see it as) their only option for a hot meal and trying to push for change on societal or individual levels. There's "the racism of low expectations" and similarly "the ableism of low accessibility." But to give disabled people that agency would mean you can't use them as an excuse or prop anymore, and that just won't do for some people.

The ingredients in supermarket bread is not much better. And, you pay a premium for the high line packaged "artisan" brands that are more expensive and lower quality than a $2 loaf you can find at a local bakery. Or just bake it yourself. You can reduce your ingredients list to 6 if you make your own simple garlic bread.

I looked into some of these ingredients. L-Cysteine as a dough conditioner catches my eye. L-Cysteine is usually sourced from animal materials, Including chicken feathers and human hair. You will find that plenty of chain restaurant brands use L-Cysteine in their slop. Science has tried to disprove human hair as being a source. But who is most likely to fund research for that? A concerned consoomer or McDonalds?

And one of my favorites.. the $3mil a floor prepper condo missile silo.
Oh come on now, that's fucking badass ("prepping" or not). Major evil overlord vibes. Fitting since because of the cost only wealthy weirdos would ever have access to it.

That's also an interesting point.
I've seen this a few times with munchies, too. They like the disability "merch" but the non-munchies tend to have more "curated" collections of things that meet their specific needs.

Hell, even I know someone who keeps an eyepatch with her because she gets cluster headaches. Anyone looking in from the outside would think it's just for cosplay or something because it's a nice leather one instead of a medical one, but it works better for her because of the nature of her headaches.

And this, is to go even further beyond:

Yes.

A long time ago my all natural and holistic hippie trippy crystal healing mom sent me some video about exactly that and I didn't believe it. Completely forgot about that until now. That's definitely something I'll have to keep my eyes open for.

Ended up watching the whole playlist.

I'm left with this grimy, dreadful feeling now. Like when you watch one of those '70es horror movies, it's not just the story and the effects that get you, there's an overbearing vibe to some of those films (Texas Chainsaw Massacre for example), like the crew traveled to some parallel dimension or to some lost layer of hell to film the whole thing. Same thing after watching these vegan cult vids. Mentally unwell people turned inhuman through lack of nourishment, jesus hefe christ, and they sometimes drag their kids into this shit as well.

Probably been discussed here before, but just as consooming can be seen as a type of cult, the typical cult stuff itself (gaining higher knowledge, vibrating, seeing third eye shit) is conversely a form of consooming. Aimless people are attracted by the superficial shiny words and concepts, all coming from one practical source (whatever guru douchebag they met at a yoga retreat or something), grab onto them and parrot them without really understanding them, as opposed to building their own spirituality bit by bit as they reflect upon their own life, listening critically to the various people they meet every day, and so on. Build "your own" spirituality with a pre-made kit, basically, because that rasta hippie with hand tats told you to.

More Jim Bakker because he's the most insane shill and I love watching his shenanigans, as depressing as it is.
For a meager $1000 donation, you will get this miracle blanket. It will give you blessings from God to help you financially.

Prosperity gospel breeds the wildest consoomer behavior.

How the fuck is Jim Bakker even still around after all the bullshit he did?

Here's some more old televangelist insanity where Peter Popoff is still selling "miracle water" (won't let me embed this) after all these years. Looks like he's moved on from trying to scam old black people, because I remember you used to be able to find his infomercials on BET and his audience was mostly black.

The greatest benefit to scamming the elderly is that they rarely live long enough to hold an effective grudge. Assuming they remember you at all of course.
I can't find the article again, but during his recent incident with selling snake oil to destroy Covid, his congregation just wanted him to get back to his important work. They literally just do not care.

That's actually a really good example of the difference I was trying to describe earlier. I'm not trying to shit on people who eat a certain diet, I'm shitting on hyper-processed, hyper-consumerist food "products".
A McDonalds veggie patty isn't great for you, and it's still pretty processed, but it's still a patty-made-of-vegetables. Beyond and Impossible aren't that. They're meat "replacements" made of waste products from the manufacture of other items that has been recombined into a meat-simulacra.

Why are there so many vegan junk food products? I know obviously they can't use animal products but the fact these companies sell vegan alternatives to whip cream, ice cream, cookies, etc makes it sound more nasty than it already is. Also doesn't help that all these vegan videos feature at least 2 of these products in them.
