This man is also a pedophile and his finances are that he loves with his mom. The biggest consumers out there in my experience are those who flaunt their large collection they gathered while their living expenses were covered by someone else.

It's generally a bad idea to have a display case without glass surrounding it, as the stuff will get dusty fast. Have fun cleaning all the time, which I bet he don't do.
its always the same generic shelves on every pop culture hoarder room. Its never nice looking furniture or something that feels homely but the kind of shelve from a store or a warehouse that looks even more off putting and sterile as fuck in a living space.

you actually looked closer

Hey Consoomer watchers, I recently found a few gems from an old Trekkie:

Whoa, it sure blows me away that boomers in the 2000s - 2010s could buy enough Intellectual Property shit to fill an entire room! A true original consoomer, before it was cool!

I sure wonder where this one particular Star Trek Consoomer is now... :)
The ridiculous part of this video from 2013 is how 2008 it looks

Question in here for any sane retro SNES collectors. Are prices ever going to come back down to earth, or have neckbeards hoarding shit fucked us completely?
Not a collector but i've been hearing on /vr/ "the bubble is going to pop soon" since fucking 2014. Even the market for japanese Famicom/Super Famicom games is fucked by now. I blame every single retro game Youtuber for this situation.
My older cousins and uncles used to do this to me and it was deliberate humilliation tactic, they just thought it was the funniest. One birthday they promise to take me out for a surprise, i got to watch them enter a video game store, buy a newly released ps2s with a hunch of games, controllers, etc but it was for themselves. Then with bags full of a few thousands of dollars of electronics they bought me a single cupcake with a candle on it and sent me back home.

Cool thing to do to a 12 yr old kid whose parent just died and is struggling to survive in the middle of economic crisis in Venezuela. That was my aunt's idea.

At least i learned a lesson about those kinds of people early.
Jesus Christ, dude, i come to this thread to laugh, not to fall into second-hand suicidal depression. That's some stone-cold shit to do to a child, i hope you poisoned their pets in retaliation.

Are ebay listings for these even selling? Vendors could be ask a thousand bucks for duck hunt if they want but that doesn't mean its going to sell. A lot of people are already sitting with their bags for months.

Make that years, eBay has been dead for a long time thanks to scalpers and "I KNOW WHAT I HAVE!" secondaries but everywhere else is ridiculously overpriced as well. As someone else stated, thanks to Covid the already ridiculous prices only got worse thanks to normie dollars, it's absolutely the worst time to get into collecting, no matter for which console. Even Wii shovelware games are rising in price.
Thank God for Flashcarts and emulation.

Everything was going fine then the Wata Games jews came. Sucks for normal people who were into old games but all the retards that bought at inflated prices after the whale rush thinking they were going to make millions flipping chronno trigger and zelda cartridges deserve to be left holding the bag. Everyone already in the hobby was saying from the beginning the inflated prices are retarded and most videogames are not scarce at all.

"I have the same thing so many times. I'm such a cool collector. Look at my collection of the same thing."

Seriously now, can somebody please explain me what kind of mentality is this? What's the point of having the very same thing so many times? 2 copies are already too much. Why 51? Couldn't he just keep one of them and share the rest of them with other people? This is not the first time I see that. I remember some guys feeling so proud for showing us the normies their epic collection... of the same miniature fighter jet 20 times. No joke. Just why?

Truly. My mother just dumped the family's old games on me and I'm dreading the work listing, packaging and mailing this crap off to some retard.
Every one of these game I actually liked I have emulated and to be honest, at middle age I just don't care to vidya anymore.
Anyway, you look up your game, someone's selling for $300 someone else is $30. I have a normal person full time job I don't have time for this shit. I can't believe anyone who trades games for profit is really making a go of it.

Collectibles are only good if you can flip them right away, but thats generally not the case so its a really shitty bussiness to sit on a single article for who knows how long. A few years ago people were more likely to offer you trades rather than money if you were selling retro games, because most of the market were hobbyists not necessarily trying to make a bussines out of it, more like finding ways to support their own collecting habit, it was the only way i'd recommend getting into it.

I wasn't aware so many switch games even existed.

I'd say this was a joke post, but it's reddit, so who knows.

That's one potentially deadly jenga tower right there.

Tell me about it. Possibly the dumbest and most awkward place to put your shelf of vidya and collectibles. In a staircase?
Could it be that this is in a staircase because he's hiding his true power and has Consoomed far more than even this?

I stopped bothering with buying physical copies of games I can easily emulate because the price was going nuts for even PS2 games by 2017. Scalpers and shelf show offs ruined buying old games way before anyone who wasn't a total nerd noticed.

It's the worst time to collect anything or buy anything even tangentially related to electronics. Scalpers will be selling consumer items for or over their original release price, even with the item still for sale at an unchanged MSRP. Ebay is the melting pot of mentally broken buyers and ego driven greedy sellers. Not that anywhere else is in particularly good shape.

$10k on newsprint that is probably mostly unread.

Hoarding paperback books you don't reread is completely pointless. If a book is just going to deteriorate on a shelf for the next decade, let it deteriorate on a shelf at the public library for free.

He is buying whole boxsets, this has all the looks of someone who's not been building up through years of reading but just burned a ton of cash at once so he could shelf-brag
