Sad really how they've made collecting old consoles so toxic and expensive. I like playing on my OG Xbox, but if I hadn't bought it from a thrift store, I'd be paying well over 100. I'm just glad it's driven the development of emulation.

Special edition Nintendo portable systems always tend to go for way more than a basic model does on the secondary market. If you are a scalper/flipper, you can make decent money off those models of the portables since they are made in limited quantities compared to the more vanilla versions of the systems.

I collect consoles and older games and shit like this baffles me. I ran into one of these cretins in the wild at a local game store chain. He was exactly like the Sony guy except with Xbox shit. I think I was buying Mech-Assualt for OG Xbox and this guy mentions that he has 4 copies. I say something like "that's neat" while thinking that's why this is $10 instead of $5.

It doesn't end there. This man was on a quest and he needed to let me and the clerk know about it. He was obtaining every Xbox game and accessory. He was buying the Chicken Little movie game and like 6 other games. I don't remember what the others were but Chicken Little sticks out because I thought there is no way he's going to play it. Dipshits like this are the reason vintage game and old electronics prices are inflated. I own a CRT TV not because I saw one on Stanger Things but because I like to play Time Crisis.

Look Mech Assault is good, a highlight of the OG Xbox era that needs to be ported. He has 5 copies. Bruh. 4 other people could have played that. And should. Then buying random shit like chicken little? Your apartment ( no way he saves enough for a storage unit) must be fucking full.

I'll go off topic but I had my doubts about a console Mechwarrior game. I had PS2 when I was a wee tot so Xbox is kind of new to me beyond playing at a friend's house. Mech-Assualt fucking rocked. I even got Mechwarrior 2 for PSX. They were all really good ports and I did not expect that. I'm kind of a consoomer when it comes to Battletech shit but in my defense 60 ton death robots are awesome.

There's nothing wrong with Mechassault, it's just a really bad adaptation of the source material. Taken on it's own it's a bitchin' game, and this is coming from a BT sperg.

It's unreal to me they weren't absolutely massacred for that behavior. Imagine telling an overwhelming portion of your current (and potential future) customers that they literally don't matter unless they "say the line" and laughing off billions of dollars of combined direct property damage, lost business and the knock-on effects of both like it's no big deal.

In a just world every white person and every straight person would have canceled their Sony-related subscriptions and stopped buying their products then and there, gaming and otherwise. Let them subsist on the comparably tiny market of blacks and alphabet soups if that's what they want.
