Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Have Art Consoomers been talked about before? I think a prime example of one is NerdECrafter.

Marvel fans seem to get real upset at the idea of someone calling their films popcorn flicks or 'not cinema' even though both aren't necessarily bad things for films to be. I mean you also have people that misuse both terms to disregard films they don't like, but they're just as dumb.

They need to learn to chill out like horror fans who largely don't care what non-horror fans say or how much they get trashed as "schlocky dumb garbage for sickos" by those that don't 'get' them.
About 10 years ago, I used to go to San Diego Comic Con. This was about the time the actors from Twilight were showing up and the convention went from being merely crowded to an absolute shitshow. Anyway, at the Marvel booth they were hanging cardboard hammers to promote the Thor movie. There's weren't complicated or anything - just a picture of Mjolnir on carboard. It looked like the kind of think you would cut out of the back of a cereal box.. Anyway, there were people getting into physical altercations over the hammers. I believe they had to actually stop giving them out because attendees were getting so worked up trying to get one of these stupid pieces of cardboard. So I agree that Marvel fans need to chill out, but I am pessimistic it will happen anytime soon.

Maybe a few museums that would house shitty memoriabilia as "artifacts" but they don't number that high these days and there wouldn't be an excess of them in the future. Maybe later generations waxing nostalgia for a past they never had? Still niche.
Those memorabilia museums pretty much cater to modern day consoomers whose parents wouldn’t buy them that He-Man action figure back in the 80’s and they never got over it. Capeshit and similar merchandise is already aimed at adults who don’t have to ask Santa, in 20 or 30 years they’ll already either have these things themselves or will have come to their senses and thrown them away.

I mentioned this on the Fat Acceptance thread, but I noticed a lot of fat people are also big consoomers with non-edible stuff as well. Infact, I do notice Torrid puts out a lot of clothes for shitty consoomer crap movies like this one cardigan for that Birds of Prey movie that looks like someone skinned a muppet for example.

I guess I was wrong about them forgetting about this thing. Took them forever to release it and it's just a tiny gas mask with rgb.
I mean, I’m very pro mask but if I saw someone wearing some shit that made them look like an extra from Fallout 4, even I’d have to laugh at them. You don’t need two N95 HEPA filters attached to your face like you work in a bio weapons lab.

If you actually want near perfect blocking a half face mask would make the most sense, if you think it's still necessary. I wouldn't trust the reliability of a shitty gaming brand's device if I actually thought it would save my life, but cloth masks also barely work so what is the middle ground? N95 and above but before you have bulky filters on your face?

I've avoided trailers for a while using adblock, but you got me curious, so I looked up the two that matched your description and holy shit. They both look like shows like Xena or Hercules from back in the day, it's just the special effects that have advanced. Not even "improved", just "advanced".

Too bad Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie both looks like rotten thumbs now. They're supposed to be the big draw of the film and they both look like crap.

Let's see how well Lawless, who is same age as Hayek and 8 years older than Jolie, has aged:

Looks like someone wants us to post more plastic. Happy to oblige.

Why would you buy a boxset of shitty funko pop stuff for a movie you've never even seen?

And I don't get buying a bunch of garbage off amazon just because tiktok said you should. Everything that isn't a book is just 3rd party garbage from Chinese sellers who migrated there from ebay. The amount of crap these people buy and then shove on their car keychains should be illegal.

You sure do if you actually want protection that bad. Far as I've seen, nobody really wants it that bad though. Pros use "P" series filters because they're more efficient and oil resistant, and for small particle protection you want to go up to a P100. Organic vapor (aerosol) P95 cartridges utilize a fabric pre-filter because their particulate filtration efficiency is considered sub-par. Even fit-tested masks will give you a little huff of aerosol now and again if you're active, or as the filters become saturated and the efficiency falls off. Pretty sure biological facilities use clean air lines into positive pressure suits, and modern industrial facilities use clean air lines into full-face hoods for aerosol hazmat.

Wearing a half-face is punishment. It's a fucking chore on a good day. I suspect those fagmasks sold fast because they're actually used as rave (or LARP) gear, and since the basics of wearing them haven't changed (silicone + straps) they will be just as uncomfortable as existing products. I have a hard time imagining anyone but the craziest shut-in hypochondriacs wearing those regularly after they rack up a couple hours in one.

Figured I’d come back on this thread to talk about the video gaming YouTuber called Mr. Wright Way:

A classic case of a video game YouTuber who always go to the local pawn shops and thrift stores to buy random amounts of collectible video games, while also trading (almost) all of his stuff to get more games and consoles so he could buy two kiosks:

And to make this post fitting, he even answers a fan’s question regarding how much games you can consume and store in your own house:

Most of his videos really just show him going to random goodwills and garage sales to get the latest price of how much games are going by (whether it’s from the Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, GameCube, etc.)

Either way, this stuff is entertaining.

I will give him credit for owning a Sega Saturn with a modded hard drive that was made inside the console. At least he’s aware of emulation.

How's the powered mask market? Is there actually much of that beyond full head coverings? Stuff like a fan pulling the air for you instead of having to pull all the air through it yourself.
