Do you think right wing revival of esoterism, paganism, and/or general magical bullshit will happen?
It happened already from the years 2015 through 2017, from the Germanwings 9525 crash through the first Trump election. Anon culture adopted "chaos magic" (identified explicitly as such in the original 2015 /bane/ thread), and it destroyed them.

I'd say it died down if anything. It's a lot less common than it was even just 5 years ago to see dudes quoting Serrano and doing rune yoga while sunning their balls. The right-wing has largely just become christian conservatives and are far more boring for it.

This is Justin Careesi/Quirici, a failed SF comedian who ended up being the real ID of anonymous Red Pill YT cartoonist hoe_math.

This clip of him doing his Zoom comedy act at an online Xmas party in Dec 2020 is a little interesting.

The Q before the clip is "Do you like Xmas or are you a Grinch?"

This leads to a bizarre segment where

- hoe_math describes hating everything about Xmas
- only redeeming thing is the rising of the Light/Jesus Christ
- talks about being raised Christian, but now only interested in the "esoteric meaning of it"
- shows off occult red squares and circles on his walls representing Eastern symbolism
- calls Jesus an Apollonian deity - male, sun-centered, oriented to the East

for their own ego.

They rejected the path of Christianity precisely for this reason. Because in Christianity, you are to deny your ego and deny yourself. They also realized the “trad” life was not mommy milkers and living in a log cabin like those fake Aurelius Carnivore accounts promised.

So they rejected it, but could not go back to the atheist or leftist community. Their idea was to come up with their alternative to religion. The Jocko, the hoe math, and the Jordan Peterson. Gains, women, and wisdom. Except, all of this still gave them that feeling of emptiness. They all went psycho then, and just like faggot breadtubers who trooned out, these right wingers started dosing and now claim to be the Mahdi.

It was never about finding truth, just pleasure without consequence.
He finds the more contemporary & mainstream elements of modern Christianity to be "empty, dry & corrupt".

I hate this argument. Christianity and its elements have been debated since Peter and Paul. This is nothing new, and is a lame argument to avoid discussing Christianity with actual people who have done their homework, like IP or David Wood.

What's with rightcows and shilling pills/supplements/vitamin water?
Part of the LARP is self-imrpovement (or at least, the illusion that you are) plus some people think that what they sell on pharmacies is bad and the real, untainted stuff is what they sell: "This right-wing advocate wouldn't shill for big pharma, right?".

A lot of it too is simply trying to earn a buck within a parallel economy that simply isn't there.

he was disappointed when he asked his superiors some probing existential questions and he found their answers lacking.
Common mistake. You start to think for too long and you assume everyone else is too.
This is simply factually wrong. The earliest Greek thinkers, such as Archimedes, Aristotle, and Plato, were initiates of, and contributors to, occult societies. Modern chemistry is demonstrably a derivative of medieval Alchemy. You would be surprised how many past scientists were also occultists or into mysticism. Isaac Newton and Robert Boyle are two examples I can recall off the top of my head. The simplistic modern assumptions that science and mysticism are total opposites, and that one has to reject one to believe the other, are just that- simplistic modern assumptions made by people who claim to believe in science while ironically rejecting any ideas they are unfamiliar with.
Plato and Pythagoras are very interesting examples. Pythagoras had his own mystery cult. The content of their traditions could be called "religious" but that's not what they were really about. For example the Pythagoreans taught that totality of divinity was called the Monad, or the uncaused cause. Plato ran with the idea even though he believed in the greek pantheon because it is the best approximation of reality even today.

Yeah the LARPing as Christians is getting tiresome. It was more fun back in the day when they were all reading Evola and trying to give themselves schizophrenia.

Advaita Vedanta seems somewhat popular now but that's not really mysticism.

Now they're just giving themselves schizophrenia trying to reconcile Jewish mythology with White nationalism.

I unironically think spirituality and "new" religion is the answer to our current predicament. Atheism and agnosticism have time and time again fallen to the trap of equality and equity mantra that is so ill equiped to combat against aggresive fervant cult like Islam.
Embracing mysticism will simply lead to the replication of all issues inherent to Islam which stem from Sufism.

Watching this video right now, and came upon this thread.

There's been a large growth of midwit mania over Christian "esoterica" (an oxymoron imo) over the past 7-8 years
I went partway down that path a couple years ago myself, as I felt like attaining "special, secret knowledge" about my faith would make me cooler and smarter than everyone else.
Instead it typically makes you look like the pond scum of Masonry, like the people in the video I shared.

One of the most incredible things about the redemptive power of Christ is that he unburdened (and continually unburdens through the process of renewal) us from the fear of the unknown by removing the often unintentional hubris and weight of our intellect that keeps people like Jordan Peterson from fully embracing and speaking aloud the very simple and beautiful Truth of Christ and the Good News.
We are so constantly seeking ways to be better than everyone else or to be what can only be described as intellectual martyrs that we often actually dilute the Truth and muddy the waters when we apply equal reverence to non-canonical texts or really any information that comes from outside the Bible.
I still very much enjoy reading about some of these topics, but so many people today have made them the center of their faith. It's not good.

Thanks for the share of the video. Halfway through it now. All these “esoteric” ideas and American mysticism lead down the same paths. Advocacy of legalized drugs, freedom of any form of religion, removal of monogamy, sexual liberation, removal of age of consent laws. Like you stated, pond scum of Masonry.

For Peterson, there has to be complexity, but the starting message is clear and simple. He just complicates it because it can’t be that simple.

Aquinas famously left his greatest work, Summa Theologiae, unfinished because in his own words “I can do no more; such things have been revealed to me that all that I have written seems to me as so much straw”.

Hedonism sells and is a lot more fun than sublimation of desire.

Most of the older traditions do stress celibacy and abstinence from drugs and alcohol, especially in the east, but of course this is immediately forgotten when the "guru" realizes he can lay pipe in hippie chicks.

I keep being reminded of this thread whenever folkhero cartoonist sex philosopher hoe_math goes all New Age or gets delusions of grandeur.
But if you mean individually, I am the greatest communicator the world has ever seen, and I have unlocked arcane knowledge in millions of people all over the world, using only colored pencils and a phone camera.

Though he did participate in an Alistair Crowley ritual cult at one point and previously decorated his apartment with Eastern mysticism symbols while doing machete demos, the "arcane knowledge" imparted to millions from his millenia-old Ancient Roman lineage mostly comes in the form of telling hopeless Zoomer to hit the gym and rageposting about migrants and shitlibs.

From the YT comments of hoe_math's latest July 22nd, 2025 livestream

There was lots of shitting on boomers are per usual by millennial sex cartoonist philosopher hoe_math and his mostly Gen Z chat.

During the live, hoe_math makes a quip that the complete obtuseness and lack of empathy from the Boomer generation can't simply be explained by their cohort growing up at the height of the American middle class or simply being too spoiled & soft. hoe_math makes a passing reference that perhaps there could be a metaphysical Astrological explanation for their awfulness as an entire generation. He makes some flippant reference to Neptune

This YT boomer and "professional astrologer" for the last 50 years seems to be replying to that segment.

That's basic bitch shit. Get those zoomers onto Neville Goddard.

Law of Attraction except the only thing you'll attract is involuntary commitment to a psych ward. His thing is that you can't have any doubt whatsoever that you'll get what you desire otherwise it won't work, so he recommends hours and hours of self-hypnosis a day until you have melted your brain.

This is a really interesting question with some interesting thoughts, I'm gonna have to think about this, but in the meantime:

I think a lot of it as that Evola is popular on the online English speaking right and also that Dharmic religion (for some reason mostly Advaita Vedanta and Theravada Buddhism) is sometimes consulted for insight particularly because they don't have exclusionary cosmology and don't demand conversion. There's also an element of using Dharmic religion to fill the spiritual void abandoning Christianity left in many but they don't seem to go deeper than using Buddhist/Hindu imagery really.

Pinning it on the popularity of Evola kind of begs the question though, doesn't it? It wasn't just Evola who was big into mysticism: a lot of the OG fascist leaders and most of the OG Nazi bigwigs were. Indeed that is the thing that made this thread so interesting to me. It feels like there's nothing new under the sun. Or I guess under whatever starsign we are now living in?

Embracing mysticism will simply lead to the replication of all issues inherent to Islam which stem from Sufism.

I'm a certified expert in Islam and Sufism, of course, like all Kiwis, but could you please explain this to me as if I know as much about either of those things as the average American? I always heard the issues with Islam stemmed from Salafism, while the Sufis were the peaceful, tolerant Muslims?

The two are not compatible. Abrahamic religions except Judaism are both inclusive/invasive/spreading religions.

Christianity and Islam are all about spreading, which is not compatible with nation states in the long run.

Ave Adolf.

That's the problem with universalist, spreading religions.
If you must convert every last jeet and nog, you must welcome them into your community.

Atheism and Enlightement and Humanism are judeo-christian in their origin, as much as R/atheism would seethe about it.

I am happy to hear german right wingers are rediscovering their ROOTS.
But I wish we had more info on esoteric Hitlerism and meme magic.

This whole Western system of rights, freedoms and such has been fully subverted, as sad as it is.

It would need a total legal reform as well as a literal fuckton of Synods to rewrite half of lets say Catholicism.
