O______e

I know that this is a joke, but this actually seems like something Connor would do. Base a super edgy superhero character off of a childrens show.

I'm willing to give Connor the benefit of a doubt here. Sure, it's kind of hilarious that his new book that wasn't going to near-plagiarize other works shares a name with a Sesame Street short. He could have just chosen a name at random, though. Let's take a look at some of the facts we got from Ding-Dongs.
It's his first day of high school, and while he looks forward to it, he is simultaneously filled with dread because his powers have given him a reputation as an outcast in his community. The kids, with the exception of his best friend Nate, are visibly creeped out by him.
Basically, he has enhanced vision, hearing, smell, etc. He's also capable of flight, but he hasn't completely mastered that ability yet.
I have yet to find any physical weaknesses, but I know throughout the story, he's afraid he doesn't have what it takes to be a hero.
Maybe when Alphaboy overcomes his biggest challenge of self-doubt, he'll be able to fully claim the name Alphaboy, because he seems to be pretty inferior to start off. Maybe this is Connor trying to write fiction using his real life struggles and work through them? Seems like it would be a pretty short book though, when all he has to do is believe in himself to achieve that. Unless, of course, he's like Connor and is resistant in realizing how he holds himself back.

I can definitely see this story. Here are a few of my ideas.

- It's about how the world needs saving, but the only superhero is a fat lazy autistic.

- He uses excuses, usually lamenting about how humanity doesn't deserve to be saved like a shitty Rorschach. But sometimes come close to saving the day, only to pussy out last minute.

- He gets paranoid that world governments are tracking him, that people view him as a curse and burden. In reality, he's so bad at being a hero nobody really even knows about him.

- His love interest is a special ed. girl that ends up terrified of him because he stalks her and also is oblivious that she's a sped.

That's all I got so far, I don't really know what his powers would be.

So, I'm back once again. So sue me. I'm willing to post what I have for the first chapter on here. It's not much, but fuck, if it helps me get back into the groove of writing, I'll do it. In other news, I passed another math test with flying colors and zero incorrect answers.

How's your grandmother doing?

What are you hoping to gain by posting the first chapter here? Critique, general comments, the satisfaction of proving to us that you have written something?

I want, more than anything today, to read Chapter 1 of Alphaboy.

Connor, I was just thinking, when do you finish your math course? It should be soon, right?

Maybe for your next round of courses, take the courses you're actually interested in and will help with your writing. Starting college right off the bat with the one course you hate the most isn't the most inspiring of ways to go about it...

What a coincidence, I think I'm just about to start chapter one of Betaboy

She's fine. I want to let you all know that the first chapter's only a few pages long. I really wanted to get going with the rest of the story. I'm kind of hesitant about posting it due to the dialogue of the African-American character Nate. He's kind of jive and foul-mouthed, a muscle-bound jock who shies away from steroids because, in his words, "it makes your dick fall off." I wasn't intending to be implication-y or anything. Rather, I was attempting to capture a kind of locker room vibe in his interactions with Sean.

Well, @Smutley has been dying to see it...

I'm going to imagine Alphaboy just like the in Sesame Street short. It'll really cement his struggle to believe he can be a hero.
He's actually kind of Asian looking. A cross between Henry Thomas from E.T. and Bruce Lee.
