Hey Connor.

Thanks for never responding to my email. I can see how much you care to improve.

For those of use who don't use teamspeak, please make sure to record the call <3

Surprisingly, no! He's working on explaining his story. It's still not any better.

Nice! I'm eager to hear his thoughts about it.

I find it almost impossible to believe he wasn't bullied at some point in high school.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. Chapter 3 of RE heavily implies that he was, however, the cooperation of the school faculty with Eva's bullies makes me wonder how much human interaction he actually had during school.

I was bullied during middle school and the staff were usually helpful or at the very least sympathetic. Although I'm not certain of this - and I certainly can't prove it - I don't think Connor was bullied, just laughed at. Most of the bullying probably happened in his head. He either never told his teachers about it or, when he did, they dismissed his claims as groundless because they were just that. This led Connor to believe his teachers were in on the plot.

I know it sounds outrageous, but given how Connor formed a vitriolic opinion of adoption despite knowing nothing about the subject I don't think it's that far fetched. It would explain why the bullies in RE act so bizarrely. Even cartoon villains don't act the way these characters do.

Reminds me of another lolcow.

Chris: I've got a lot more experience than you could imagine.

Matthew: [chuckles]

Chris: I have had twenty-seven years of experience.

Matthew: With what? Eating McDonald's and watching TV? Son, Chris is younger than you, and he has had far more experiences than you have. And I've had fifty-two years of experience.

Chris: Yeah, well, how about being pinned down by three teachers, a guidance counselor, and an elementary school... prinstapull... and having your screams and cries recorded on audiotape like a torture chamber?

I am kind of o_O after reading this thread, but I just wanted to clear up a misstatement from an earlier chat log.

When you want to get a book published by a large publisher, it's best to do it via a literary agent. You don't pay the agent a penny up front, though: agents get paid by taking a percentage (usually 15%, but can be 10%) of what the writers they're representing get from the publishers.

AbsoluteWrite.com is a great resource, with a bunch of successful writers who share their expertise for free. Connor's behavior on those forums was like someone taking a shit in the middle of the New York Public Library.

And, Connor, nobody cares what you think about adoption. You are not an adoptee, an adoptive parent, or the birth parent of someone adopted. You have zero information on the issue, and nothing to add to any discussion of the topic. Just be quiet when you have nothing of value to add.
