You can't just set criticism aside just because you find the manner its delivered objectionable. All you're doing is giving yourself an excuse to not listen to it because you don't like to be criticised.
Get used to vitriol. Some people need a heavy hand, and you're one of them. You start ignoring every piece of advice just because it hurts your feelings, then you're just hurting yourself.

I have had to request people give me criticism. And occasionally I've been encouraged to PAY people to criticize my work properly.
If someone gives you actual criticism and insults you at the same time you should still read it. You need to be able to separate your work from yourself. Because your work will always be insulted, that's something you will not be able to prevent no matter how good it is. You can only control how you react to it.
