James patterson books are tailor made for people with short attention spans.

For real reals, has he actually ever read an entire book? I seriously feel like he hasn't. Like, not even one.
 
This is exactly why Connor's writing suffers so much, you can't be a good writer without reading other people's writing. On top of that, he consumes such a specific genre of media (things that sound both edgy and intellectual) that he wouldn't be seeing a wide enough variety of writing styles. He may also be picking things beyond his reading level. Maybe some Dav Pilkey instead of Stephen King would benefit him?

What likely happens is Connor has so little energy a day to deal with subjects that aren't the daily routine of 80s movies, Molly Ringwald, or the internet. So it's a struggle to him to find an opening in the routine to read one page, write a few words, or take one class.

Should that schedule be altered by Grandma Bible, there goes that opening.*

(a possible symptom of autism is difficulty with changes in routine)

Not just Molly. Nobody cares about Connor. How could they? What reason is there to give a single scrap of concern or compassion to him? He deliberately lives as a perpetual anchor for his blood relatives, dragging them down and making their lives harder so he doesn't have to exert any effort. And he's going to keep doing it until the grave (either his or theirs). He actively sought out to betray a forum full of people giving him well meaning friendly advice, and he did it for the crime of them wanting to see him become a successful writer and be happier in life. Because he's so inexcusably lazy and pathetic he sees the kiwi farms giving him honest encouragement as a cruel attack on his urge to be a worthless slug.

No one will ever be friends with Connor Bible or care about the stupid meaningless stuff that he says, and he deserves it.
