Dude I'm just happy you're ok. You wouldn't believe how many stories there are of people getting struck by stray bullets during those things. They really shouldn't hold them around such residential areas.

That's the beauty of the thing. It's a first draft. I can worry about perfection later.
I'd worry about having to copy it to the PC once you were done typing. Unless you have one of those scanners with the spiffy text functions.

Don't get me wrong, typing is good if it removes the distractions that the internet might have but so does physically disconnecting the ethernet cable if it's too much of a temptation. That's the way that I would do it in any case. Whatever works best for you.

Afraid not. I'm using my typewriter.

The typewriter is a perfect cover. This way he can keep saying HE'S WORKING ON IT and never have to show any proof.

I have no comment.

I made two character sheets on TVTropes.
Connor, for your "productivity" as of late I am awarding you a Gold Star.

Chris has been updating near-daily, @Moleman9000 's back sperging out, Connor has returned to his thread. . .

It's like a beautiful Advent Calendar of autism.

That may work for short works, but a novel is a totally different ball-game. Imagine having to go through and revise 180 pages in manuscript formatting before submitting it to a publisher. Doing that on a computer is a lot of work, but manageable. Doing that on a typewriter?

lol

Pretty much this.

That and going on about how he's writing his novel on a typewriter sounds incredibly pretentious.

I remember back in middle school one of my crazy English teachers made us write a short story specifically using a typewriter, and that was the closest I've ever come to wanting to destroy a piece of machinery. It jammed like a motherfucker and having to completely redo my paper at the slightest mistake didn't help either. But hey, if it's your thing and you think it'll help you churn out stories faster I say go for it.
