You know those prank .gifs or whatever from last decade, where some screaming face pops up after a few seconds? Connor's new selfie looks just like one of them.
 
He may no longer be with us here, but it's always good to be occasionally reminded that the Connor Never Changes.
 
So I stumbled over Connor in the NaNoWriMo forums today. Apparently he's still "working" on Redesigning Eva.

For those who don't know, it's currently the first month of Camp NaNoWriMo. Unlike normal NaNoWriMo, you can set your own word count goal. Connor's feeling ambitious with a goal of 50,000 words. Let's see how he's doing.

Waaaaaait wait wait wait. So his book is an AU of NGE where instead of an awesome sci-fi mecha psych show, we get... serial killer high school. That’s what I’m getting from this. Am I wrong?
 
I don't think it's been an NGE rip-off for years, if it ever was at all beyond that one ending he had planned. Now it's more like Silence of the Lambs meets Blade Runner with a dash of The Breakfast Club. He also takes most of his inspiration from films because Connor is an aspiring writer who hates books.

A part of me is honestly rooting for Connor to finish something just so he can finally put his money where his mouth is. RE's a schizophrenic mess that leans too much on its inspirations and should be thrown out for something with its own identity, but having a finished draft would at least give him something new to complain about. He seems like one of those people who loves the idea of being a writer more than writing itself. You find a lot of those types on NaNoWriMo.
 
To the surprise of no one, Connor didn't meet his goal for Camp NaNoWriMo.

I'd like to point out that he didn't even properly participate. Your word count is supposed to reflect the exact number of words you've written over the course of a month. Any previously written work shouldn't be included. So those 24,751 words didn't even count toward his monthly goal. Connor didn't write a single word in April and still managed to fail in ways I would have never expected.

Port Royal is close to the Georgia border so he's been barely inconvenienced (from his obsessive masturbation habits and grandma assisting duties) at worst. I'm sure he's still thinking about how awesome Redesigning Eva is and how it'll definitely be novel of the year decade century when it's finished, but has barely added a couple hundred words to it, if that.

He'll add "carried in groceries IN THE RAIN" to the legends of the herculean tasks he's had to overcome, I'm sure.
 
Looks like Connor isn't participating this year, unless he's got another account I'm unfamiliar with. This is the account he'd been using previously. He actually deletes all traces of his previous novels after each NaNo so you can't see his old projects or stats at all. I don't remember if it was last year or the year before that when he was going to be doing a James Bond novel.
