So, the UTubeTrollPolice (UTTP) is a really, really old YouTube trolling group, turned loose anti-fandom trolling collective, turned 764/Com-adjacent """ironic""" pedo-ring.
You've probably at least heard mention of them before from Stephen Larson's beloved series of 𝓼𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓯𝓾𝓵 schizo essays about them, but they are an actual group, and the group's post-pandemic membership has actually consisted of many legitimately horrific monsters that victimized countless children. One of these monsters went by the name of FPS.
Bambu labs, a major 3D printer player (a chinese company), managed to get Orcaslicer (Bambu fork branch), a software implementation on Bambu labs printer that doesn't gape your LAN to the wider internet* taken down after:
1) Issued a legal document threatening a lawsuit and takedown
2) Defamed the creator of Orca slicer as elite superhaxxor like Jackie Singh
3) is DMCAing all content related to discussing this.
Mind you, the original code is AGPL.
This comes as the FCC/NHSTA is currently demanding chinese software be phased out of routers and vehicles, so the chance that Bambu could get assraped by congresscritters is non-zero. Even Louis Rossman (right to repair advocate, thread here) puts his foot where his mouth is and will pay 10k in legal bills for the dev if they sue.
Sadly, the creator of Orcaslicer fork yielded like a little bitch.
Bemoan the state of open source software here:
Discuss how print firearms because FUCK YOUR LEGAL MINDSET Leegul dicksucker is more like it!, NO CHINK GONNA TELL ME WHAT TO DO and muh 2A here.
*Bonus did you know? Bambu labs unilaterally changed their TOS, and made these devices online only, likely due to pressure from Chinese glowniggers (MSS)?
