Not really much they can do unless the devs copy specific Pokemon designs or literally call them Pokemon. There are tons of Pokemon-derivative games out there, most are shit and blatantly inspired by Pokemon, but that doesn't make them infringing.

It's kind of like how the PUBG people tried to sue EPIC for Fortnite because they for some reason thought they had universal claim to the "Battle Royale" genre despite their game being based off an ARMA mod that was inspired by a Jap film; it doesn't matter unless they are directly stealing specific designs or lore. Pokemon itself is also derivative of many games that came before it, they were just the most successful at establishing a franchise.
