The idea that power generation is as simple as gigawatts generated. Apparent power is a vector not scalar. There will never be a 100% nuclear only power generation since demand over a 24 hour period in a country will swing by 40%-60% and nuclear cannot change output at a rate fast enough to keep up. Then there is the issue of maintaining power factor which for all the renewable only fags is a major issue. The loss of that synchronization is what caused the 2025 Iberian Peninsula blackout. Think big pool of water and trying keep a single standing wave while 100 streams of water are all flowing in and 1000 streams are flowing out. While a limited analogy is the best I can come up with.
B&W reactors were originally designed with 256 control rod step positions to load follow. The only reason we run nuclear plants balls to the wall is because there aren't enough of them in the US to operate them any other way. In France, they load follow and even idle some of them during low demand periods.

Also, I feel like you are mixing up apparent and reactive power with diurnal energy demand. Grid control is done by controlling the frequency: if it lags, the demand is higher than the supply; if it leads, it’s the opposite.
Checkmate: No houses in Florida actually have basements, as the flooding risk is too high.
No, there are no basements in Florida because the water table is too high. It’s a ground water problem, not a flood risk problem.

That people died like at 25 in the past thru most of history if you survived childhood you'd have what we consider a pretty normal lifespan.

Ted Kaczynski was not "brutally tortured by MK Ultra". While he was involved in some psychological experiments. The tests were as follows:
>Student presents argument
>teacher mocks, belittles, and humiliates student (without addressing any arguments) to see if they would back down

None of this involved mind control, LSD, torture, etc. Nor were they public events. Did it have an impact on him? I'm sure it did. But not nearly to the impact that s many make it out to be

The idea that "natural" equals good and virtually any person's conception of nutrition whether they're a soccer mom, nu-hippie, gym-bro or some kinda raw meat retard. This is one of very few subjects that really trigger me in real life.

There is a misconception that baby birds just fly the nest when they become adults.
For bird normies, this is mostly only true for birds that spend most of their lives in the air such as swallows. Other birds (such as the ones you'll see at your feeder) will follow their parents when they are old enough, even when they can fly. American Robins will run along the ground before their wings are fully developed, with the parent always nearby to feed them.
This one pisses me off because it leads to normies thinking the baby is lost or needs to be rescued.

And then they’ll get seeds from Walmart and workout in an air-conditioned gym like that’s what the Neanderthals, who evolved for a REASON, where doing. As CGP Grey once said, “When hippies talk about ‘going back to nature’, they forgot that today’s plants are just as man-made as a poptart.”

Recent one, but the people not understanding that the Rothschild who sued Valve has nothing to do with the Rothschild family that people think about. You can literally find their entire family lineage with about 2 minutes of searching and figure this out.

In my experience, it's used by boomers to justify throwing their kids out of the house the second they turn 18 and wondering why their calls are left unanswered.

just because I work with computers doesn't mean I know EVERYTHING about technology. People think I can magically fix whatever issue or blight they're having on their phones or computers
Same when people think that just because you have a trade job or a hobby that results in a creative output, that you know the ins and outs of it and can play/make/fix anything, no matter how complex.

People of the past didn't believe in flat Earth, it's a XIX century bullshit myth made up by progressists to justify the dumb things they believed in.

Git (the version control software) and Elo (the chess ranking thing) aren't acronyms.

Indians are especially bad about this. I always want to ask them what they think G-I-T stands for.

"I could care less"
It's "I couldn't care less", you absolute sped, It means that your ability to care about something has diminished (or never existed in the first place) to the point where you cannot possibly care about something any less than you do right now. "I could care less" implies you still care to some extent, because you could potentially care about it less than you already do.
Thankfully, I've noticed people have been saying it correctly more often these days, but this was a constant irritation to me through the entire 2010s.
"I could care less" can be sarcastic though

If a man is hanged, it means he got strangled to death with a noose. If a man is hung, he's got a phat phallus.
The term Vomitorium was never used by Romans, it was just a joke that a visitor used to describe the exit of large buildings where people spewed out from. They certainly didn't have dedicated bulimia rooms.

When people think that not using a subscription would cancel it automatically. Even worse, people would bitch to me about Apple making "unauthorized charges" when they have active subscriptions on file. You add a card to be billed for a subscription you subscribed to, you authorize the charge because it auto-bills you.

That native americans were one homogeneous cultural group who were peacefully living together in hippie happyland until wypipo™ showed up.
And Blacks and Irish people who like to claim they have Cherokee blood, or some such bollocks. Hikuc, the Injun who tags along with Glass, in 'The Revenant', after saving his life, mentions his family were murdered by Sioux bandits.
