That was the crux of the theory. I can't remember where I heard it, possibly from Zacks channel years ago. The idea was that Marvel was deliberately putting out subpar products with the intention of forcing customers away. The long term goal of such a strategy was to destroy the LCS's and Diamond. Disney has its own retail outlets and has its merchandise pretty much everywhere, but because of the distribution setup of Diamond, they are unwillingly chained to them. It's not my theory but I can see the merit in it., short term pain for the long term gain of getting rid of Diamond and not being tied to the current model of the direct market. Profit margins overall would increase if Diamond and the LCS's were gone, it would be essentially getting rid of two middlemen.

I've though the same thing about the terrible recent movies that created unsellable toys, that helped push TRU completely out of business, hurt other retailers, as well as all the toy companies that bought licenses to junk properties. Crippling other companies is the best way to make sure that nobody else has enough cash to develop actual competition against Disney.

I would have thought that Comicbook sales (digitally at least) might have gone up slightly or remained the same due to so many people being trapped in doors. Even during the economic collapse of Argentina and Venezuela; toys, books and comics were highly sought after to keep scared children's minds occupied on something else other than the horror show outside their windows.

I'm sure there is an increase of digital copies sold during this period. The problem is that digital sales have been stagnant since their inception and will need to replace a large percentage of $500million to 1 billion in sales as comic stores and book shops go out of business. Zack had an interesting point; If a customer is in a habit of going to the comic shop once a week and that habit (and withdrawal) is broken due to the shutdowns... many of them mightn't return even if stores reopen.

Ride got tired of LNC being coy and not delivering the "leaks" he supposedly had.

I 100% believe the reason given. Some of the 'leaks' he claimed to have were about how Ethan sucked dicks behind pizza huts, and was blackmailing the Breitwiser's with the wife's nudes. So you could spin that as being banned for threats against EVS if you rotated hard enough, and it wouldn't surprise me if he did. No matter what outlandish claim he made he couldn't back it up though.

To be fair, I think this line of comics is geared more for children... So at the very least it's not Children of the Atom or New Warriors

I admit I used to think this way, but remembered I'm usually pretty fucking rational. When you and Andy came out against CG and Ethan specifically, Most rational people didn't jump on the "SJW" train. But a lot did.

The thing is, you need to be smart about it. For example, when the Oscars came out and all the tards were screaming about Parasite (which deserved the Oscar) winning being the work of "LEFTIST PROPAGANDA FORCED DIVERSITY SJWS!". The most famous being the fat neckbeard with his wall of comics complaining. Sitting in front of Jane Foster Thor, who, I would submit is actual SJW work. Jane Foster was never a favorite character (Unlike Storm or Beta Ray Bill who did wield Mjolnir to no one's disgust) but the writer had a hard on for her, and so he helped paved the way to making her the 'best Thor ever to be Thor' even taking the fuckers name. There was no reason to make her Thor, it lead to nothing, and it's sales started to decline once the novelty of her wore off. A lot of characters were born out of this shit, the modern run of Captain Marvel was born out of this shit.

If everything is SJW then really, nothing is. It's the status quo and YOU become the outcast, they are the norm.

On another note, anyone else worried about Peter Simeti... I can't fight this feeling in my gut that he's being led down a path that might lose most of his customers.

Wasn't the purpose of Jane Foster becoming "Thor" to prevent her death from cancer? I didn't really mind the story that much because they were trying to do a bit more with it other than just making a female Thor. There was an arc that helped mature Thor more. Falling into the Odin role.

Didn't she get breast cancer after her family died in an accident? I think that she was sick before becoming Thor. You are right about her getting sicker. I think that it was because her chemo was removed from her body when she transformed. Thus never fighting the actual cancer.

Sure people weren't clamouring for a Jane Foster story, but neither were other people for Gewn Stacey. I tend to give stories a bit more of a chance. See where the writer goes. Sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires and even sometimes is just meh. I like to see writers try to take a chance. The one thing that is consistent in comics is nothing is permanent.
