On the other, if I'd been waiting for something for nearly a year, and virtually every day it gets later there's a 2 hour live stream, I'd be pretty peeved.

That's what feels odd about it. @KingofNothing you have a good point and I will agree that a lot of the spurging at Evs thT can be pretty harsh but it's not with out point.

Zack shits out 3 books but they won't be the same quality as Evs. But I feel Evs transition to youtube personality which he admits is easy money shoulda waited till the book was done.

But YBZ is a writer, Ethan is a artist. YBZ has a sexy artist for JB G0dking....so he is upping his quality game and Ethan is still late

For people to tell EVS to give less of a shit about how the book looks? Because he won't. And people are paying premium prices for this book too, so they probably want it to look its best as well
A year long delay is also part of premium treatment? Somehow I don't remember an established company with "premium" in their slogan, name or promises fucking up the simple concept of deadline.

Also the notion that the majority of extra time went on improvement is nothing more than your naive gay assumption that you try to pass as fact. In reality we don't know and that's exactly what makes people uncontrollable which they have every right to be. Excuses only push people away from Ethan.

I don't know if anyone brought this up but Marvel scrubbed a dude from some book thanks to a Trump parody that violated their policies.

It's weird given how their creatives act on Twitter.

Well what do you want? For people to tell EVS to give less of a shit about how the book looks? Because he won't. And people are paying premium prices for this book too, so they probably want it to look its best as well
What do I want I want the book. Can I ask a question how brown is your nose from all the ass kissing you do to evs? If he had the concept in his little bitty brain for so many yrs he should be done because he knew the story long before he promoted it. Stop kissing his ass he is late because he lives on Twitter.

It's easy to see both sides tbh - on the one hand, anyone could understand someone wanting their product to be as good as possible.

On the other, if I'd been waiting for something for nearly a year, and virtually every day it gets later there's a 2 hour live stream, I'd be pretty peeved.

I'll posit this by saying that of course things for kids can be amazing. but just how much attention does a book aimed at teen boys about a giant robot frog need?
Thank you

Not just any “dude”, but Art Spiegelman. As in, Art “Maus” Spiegelman.

That ain’t a good look for Marvel, tbh, especially since they’ve published worse.

So, Darkseid killed Jessica Cruz in the most recent issue of Justice League Odyssey:

Bleeding Fool ran this story about how this was done by DC as a fuck you to creators residuals:

*UPDATED BELOW**
The GLC member, Jessica Cruz, a recent creation by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, is a member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League. Her first appearance was Justice League #31 (2014). Now, five years later, she was just knocked off by none other than Darkseid in Justice League Odyssey as part of DC’s long-running modern custom of killing off characters they may not want to pay residuals on, or just decided to throw under the bus:

There’s just no way to keep a supervillain like Darkseid out of power for long, and he’s finally returned to full power in DC’s comic universe. A point made perfectly clear which by killing one of Earth’s fan-favorite Green Lanterns… and from the looks of it, she won’t be coming back.
It’s a shocking thing to see any Justice Leaguer murdered, even if Darkseid’s betrayal beforehand was a bit easier to predict. From the first announcement that Darkseid would join Justice League: Odyssey’s heroes, fans suspected that his mission to repair the DC Universe would serve some ulterior, villainous motive. That’s exactly how the story unfolded, with Darkseid regaining his power and dominating the other League members… all of them except the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz. But even a power ring has its limits, where a blast from Darkseid’s Omega Beams do not. […]
Unfortunately for her… this is Darkseid. Taking the hit, before swatting Jessica away like a simple space cop pestering a literal God, Darkseid knows her power has run out. Acknowledging that Jessica’s overflowing willpower and courage would have made her a worthy lieutenant in his new regime, her failed attempt to defeat him helps Darkseid make his final decision. With eyes glowing red to fire his signature attack, the Omega Beams lance forward towards the Green Lantern… and reduce her to a pile of ash and bones.
On the contrary, it hasn’t been shocking for years to see any DC character killed because DC editorial so decreed. But I’ve got a feeling they’d never have done this with the Islamic Green Lantern, Simon Baz, who may or may not be in this story, because of what his background was built on, and to do otherwise would violate their own PC standards. So instead they take the easy target and throw her out with bath water.

1566425228072.png

But was Jessica Cruz really ever a “fan favorite”? Her origin story was pretty tasteless, and the audience’s dwindled so badly, it’s clear there aren’t even many left who’ll clamor for her to be brought back, if at all, assuming she’s going to remain that way:

There is always a chance that Jessica’s story can continue beyond her death, as it did when Hal Jordan died to defeat Sinestro–and continued on into the afterlife reserved for fallen Green Lanterns. In fact, the final tease of “Afterlife” may give readers hope that is exactly what twist will arrive next. But until then, fans can pick up the issue to process Green Lantern’s death for themselves.
Umm, I think that would be ill-advised, if only because it would fill the coffers of Dan DiDio, and besides, no matter how this turns out, they count on gullibility of the audience to keep the sales going. Based on that, this is exactly why you shouldn’t even pick up these books if Katma Tui’s brought back (as far as I know, she’s still in the DCU crypt) because DiDio’s still bound to pull these reprehensible stunts, as he already has with Heroes in Crisis, and we can’t give him the satisfaction of thinking his contempt for fans will pay off. He is, as I’ve noted before, the single biggest problem with the face of DC today.

UPDATED
Ethan Van Sciver weighed-in on this story on his Youtube channel earlier today to correct our misunderstanding about the royalities from creating a character. Because Jessica Cruz is a ‘derivative’ character of Green Lantern, neither Geoff nor Ethan receive any ongoing royalties from the character, although they did receive a bonus payment recently when the character was to be used in other media.

Bleeding Fool and EVS (forgot his @) jumped the gun on the whole Jessica Cruz is dead and gone for good sperging:

They forgot to check the solicitations, she'll be back soon:

Ok, so Bleeding Fool weirdly thought this was a shot at Geoff and EVS' wallets and EVS just thinks DC is trimming the fat and she'll probably be back later if she comes back at all. Yeah, that entire article didn't need to exist when a quick search would have cleared it right up. The solicitation kinda annoys me though. Really takes the impact out when you show your "dead" character getting a book in TWO months.

EVS (forgot his @)
It's @FROG

Looks like Sony and Disney fell out of love and Spider-Man is out of the MCU.

Seriously? When they've been vomiting wokeshit nonstop, and their shitty shill Joe Quesadilla publicly shits on comics fans daily over wokeshit, they pick Art Spiegelman as the guy to censor?

Sure, but it’s an excuse to show some insight into how DC works, the incentive system, etc. I don’t care if Jessica Cruz is “dead” or not. It’s comics. No one is really dead. Talking about this and clearing up th mystery of why DC MIGHT kill a character and how that affects a creator is worthy of a video.

Ah, nuts. I had to check something and my suspicions were true.
The douchebag comic book writer Aubrey Sitterson is the same Aubrey Sitterson who was the 2K Community Manager for the WWE Games.

http://aubreysitterson.com/goodbye-2k/

I remember him in the 2K Forums and he didn't seem too bad in the very few interactions I saw of him.

Although, there seemed to be people who saw the light back then, too:

Marvel's All-Female Villain Team Takes Aim at Toxic Masculinity
by Renaldo Matadeen – on Aug 19, 2019 in CBR Exclusives
WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #27 from Nick Spencer, Kev Walker, John Dell, Laura Martin and VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man is changing the dynamic of Peter Parker's social circle in a huge way as he's been forced to defend his roommate, Boomerang, from the new incarnation of the Syndicate, an all-female crew sent by Wilson Fisk to kidnap him. But while the latest chapter sees the team pursuing Boomerang to undoubtedly score a major payday, we eventually discover a common ambition the members share: They want to bring down the patriarchy and, more so, take a shot against toxic masculinity in a New York that they believe should have more women in power.
1566447241932.png

When the women attack Boomerang at the F.E.A.S.T. Center, Peter hides Aunt May away and returns, costumed for a team-up he doesn't want. He knows Boomerang ran afoul of the Syndicate, but isn't sure why. Electro and Beetle have valid reasons, as Boomerang betrayed them to save his own hide, and the others -- apart from Trapster, who's only there for the violence -- bring to light a disturbing history with Boomerang from the Bar with No Name.

While he's now on the straight and narrow, flashbacks show Boomerang obnoxiously hitting on Lady Octopus (Carolyn Trainer, who was briefly Doctor Octopus in the 1990s), Scorpia (Elaine Coll, a new Scorpion given powers by the crime boss Silvermaine), and White Rabbit (Dr. Lorina Dodson, an Alice in Wonderland-themed villain). The women are rightfully annoyed, and as their vendetta comes to light, it turns out Boomerang might have crossed some lines with his forward behavior and frat-boy mentality. When he tries to mansplain how to conduct a heist at F.E.A.S.T., it only further angers the women.

We then find this new Syndicate views the New York City crime scene as biased: Alistair Smythe tried to belittle Lady Octopus over her own work; Rhino doesn't treat Scorpion equally; and White Rabbit admits Hawkeye makes passes at her in battle, which she finds offensive.

Nonetheless, while they make their own #MeToo list after knocking out Spider-Man and snatching Boomerang, they still owe a major part of their business to Fisk. It remains to be seen how their partnership will evolve, but for now, he'll definitely be impressed by how they took out the wall-crawler and apprehended someone he's been hunting for a long time.

With technology at their disposal and Fisk controlling politicians and media arms, they could use his extensive resources to help get rid of others they view as oppressive, which would only strengthen the Kingpin's grip. Beetle already made it clear they're about ideas and improving the class of criminal running the city; with Fisk backing them, Spider-Man could be in for a front-row seat to a shocking makeover right in his backyard. The Amazing Spider-Man #28 goes on sale Aug. 28.

I'm surprised they're the villains.

It’s the best work of my long career.
I understand that you have to do some PR speak, but do you really think this is believable? As if there's a chance that you would say anything else. As if you would honestly say "I misjudged the deadline", "I'm wasting time on YouTube". Fuck, dude you still have a cropped up moon on your official preview as well as a digital smudge for one of the space panels with other parts of the space looking completely digital too (or at least they just don't mash with the ship and the asteroid belt).

They forgot to check the solicitations, she'll be back soon:
Forget solicitations. The title of the next issue is "afterlife" the only way to make it more obvious is to write "it's not over yet for her!!!!!". Jesus fuck they they think their audiences stupid.
