It happens a LOT in comics. Keep in mind he was under contract with DC, so we saw the beginning of the creative process. Expecting someone's magnum opus to be quick and easy is unfair. Do I think he wastes a lot of time? Hell yeah. He is an idiot who can't see all the snakes in the grass around him.
I was actually more interested in his follow up Product. I bought Cyberfrog on Ethan's charm

Don't expect much out of him in the way of comic books. He could easily fill his entire schedule with work and no longer needs to make public appearances. My guess is he's going to start hiring people and stick to what he does best, splash pages and covers.

And shilling on Youtube

Also does Zack have any artistic ability or does he just out source scripts he writes? Cause I can see how he d be able to get a lot out.
To expound upon KingOfNothing's post, Jawbreakers book 1 was completely drawn by Zack. Here's his original Kickstarter. I bet those copies of Book 1 would fetch a pretty penny on eBay at this point.

Anyway, because I'm fixated on the truly exceptional Ben Henderson - and I don't think anyone has mentioned it - Ben has completely given up on making comics after the flop of Offworlder and his apparent inability to keep up with missing or damaged items. I'm sure getting his shit kicked in by Nasser of all people was the final embarrassing straw that caused him to give up on CG altogether.

EDIT: Oh fuck lol. He deleted his Twitter account too.

Man, seems like crying about SJWs and building your fanbase to milk them patreon/indigogo money for your own project is working magnificently. If I didn't have a single iota of morals I would have done the same

Wow. I'm shocked the convention/comicbook shop crowd didn't launch him into megabucks superstardom. Those were the people who got the books first. I'm assuming they must have been giving him hundreds of thousands of dollars since he prioritized serving them before the IGG backers.

/sarcasm

So much wasted potential from Henderson. He got Chuck Dixon in for at least three books, was on the way to a publishing house, and has connections to Indichron and he blew it all on silliness. He seems to be worse off than when he started. I wanna feel bad but he's the classic talk a big game but fall on their face when it's time to perform kinda guy. His Offworlder ended at around $20k but he somehow needed 30k to fulfill a newsprint book. His spectacular flame-out is a top 10 most embarrassing moments in #cg because he had everything going for him and got sunk by something so incredibly stupid and obvious.

Its my understanding they all Shit talk EVS in the background
A fat self-impressed fagot, who has the personality and sense of humour similar to Gail Simone, who doesn't cringe when a bunch of artistic fanboys call him "Caesar", who's been outdone by not the most smartest Texas dad in the world with a day job. Can't imagine why would they do such a thing.

Nobody asked for a magnum opus. Every comic that people love was created by professionals working under a tight deadline because the companies that employed them knew that getting product out in a timely manner was more important than stroking some diva's fragile ego.

EVS has been wanting to create this story for years, can't really blame him for wanting the first book to be as perfect as possible

Very understandable but did he promote that point when raising money for it?

Also when he has time to do multi hour streams as a youtube personality it just sends the wrong message.

Take Steven king he wrote other books while doing the dark tower series. EVS should have cranked out some shorter more manageable products to prove he can deliever then promise the super duper tasty frog book

How does a 30 years later sequel to an action comic inspired by stuff like TMNT/Battle Toads/The Maxx has to or even can be? Some of you guys act like he's writing some Sandman-Maus-V for Vendetta-Sin City hybrid.

I'm fairly certain EVS promoted the book that way considering the way he talks about it all the time. And yes, he could have finished faster and people have already given a bunch of shit for it. But the book is done, we've seen the completed product in his hands, we're getting it. He just needs to slap that fancy ass cover on all of them which takes longer than he thought and is something he should have researched more thoroughly beforehand.

EVS is clearly very into the concept and wants it to be good and we're acknowledging that feeling. I don't know what else to tell ya. It's not that important to you, but it's very important to him

Dude. That's a lame and gay excuse and there's no way you don't get it. It's an action shlock. Imagine Stallone having 10 year gap between Expendables and then he reveals that at least half a year they were just rehearsing the yippee ki yay callback with Bruce, because they needed the perfect yippee ki yay, because "he cares about the art of Expendables" . Everyone and their grandma would've called him a retard that wastes time, resources and good will of his fans. But when its EVS it's somehow different? C'mon.

Well what do you want? For people to tell EVS to give less of a shit about how the book looks? Because he won't. And people are paying premium prices for this book too, so they probably want it to look its best as well

It's easy to see both sides tbh - on the one hand, anyone could understand someone wanting their product to be as good as possible.

On the other, if I'd been waiting for something for nearly a year, and virtually every day it gets later there's a 2 hour live stream, I'd be pretty peeved.

I'll posit this by saying that of course things for kids can be amazing. but just how much attention does a book aimed at teen boys about a giant robot frog need?
