Gotta love the logic of these morons
They always 'sicc' their followers on any one or two people via Twitter, and see no issue with that. But when the person has more followers and stands up for themselves, they are ACTUALLY 'siccing' followers on that person.

For all these tards know the majority of their followers follow both of them and are impartial. Another thing to note: Most of their stupid tweets get <100+ "likes" which is a huge margin of people not caring, or not seeing their shit. How can you be so dense you actually believe there are 13k people ready and able to swarm any one person Chelsea hates. It's never really that big - and dumb troons like her never have a problem with this when it's them doing it to others.
They don't realize the creator has to sell at least a thousand copies to break even with the fee they pay image comics, and that's before any of the creative team gets paid.
The more "creators" that are hired the less money everyone makes. Demanding that creators hire "sensitivity readers" goes against everything comics has always stood for.
The troons are trying to become the art police and that never works. Most creators take a loss on making comics. You might get $15 a page if you're lucky and art supplies cost more than that.

Pay image $2500 USD
sell the comic for $3.99
Do the math and look at the numbers.
Most of the people who post on this thread are comic fans and we are all well acquainted with "maneaters".
These troons had months to criticize it, Renfamous shilled it endlessly and is now silent.
I don't like Chelsea Cain.
I think maneaters is a shit comic.
But I will fight for Chelsea's right to lose money publishing whatever the fuck she wants.

If you want to get paid to be a critic i.e. a "sensitivity reader" better get yo stupid ass on YouTube or start a wordpress blog. Otherwise come to the farms, say what you have to say and prepare to get downvoted. For. Free.

Almost all of these Image creators see any loss incurred by poor sales to be part of the cost of possibly getting their stories optioned by Hollywood. These people don't CARE about comic books. They're just using the medium to enhance their chances at getting their screenplays read.

That explains a lot about the current state of the indrustry.

It's not hard to see where this "sensitivity reader" shit is headed. It's just a matter of time before someone proposes a woke version of the Comics Code Authority.

That's why most of them don't do fantasy heroic stuff. You'll see a bunch of sex-comedy teen angst books or gritty crime dramas...all stuff easily optioned and turned into low budget movies. They're all just illustrated screenplays.

One slight problem with that * same with that Unions shit * it's not the 1950s anymore. Comics are an extreme niche now. These idiots overestimate how much leverage and power they have.

I want to set up a "sensitivity reader job fair," lead everyone into a nice circus big top tent, then fill that tent with gas.

Yaboi covering the Mags show updates.
I'm proud of our little Mags, all it took for him to get a show greenlit was
> "change" your gender
> write a bunch of nothing series that are safe and low budget enough to make a show, while LCS go out of business
> Pay the 15 dollar fee for Syfy to pick it up
> no profit

The poll if the original link is inactive
Where it all started.

I think the last part is up, unless she plans to do some more data anylysys. I highly doubt, she's really not good at that this thing.

The last part, WORKER BELIEFS.
(I'll be posting screenshots later, for now enjoy the graphs.)

Without much more comment- it's clear what the consensus is (if you can get through obnoxiousness of these graphs :/ Did she ran out of colors? Couldn't separate the more? Couldn't''ve used polyline graphs? All the questions!):

* we don't get paid enough
* we do comics for ourselves we would like to read
* comics are art, not business
* it's (sort of) not my job to give readers what they want.
* opinion of pros is more important than opinion of readers.

It quite obviously speaks for itself of just why these people are not succesful. (or maybe they don't have proper managment like Mags lolol)

(seeing this particular part I can easily say this poll was really really butchered job, more like emotional validation than actually worthy social study. But either way, it seems like a good barometre for general mood in "community". )

Hey, let me tell you my story about "sensitivity" in comics. This tidbit is not powereleveling, but a needed set up for this story
: I work a lot with government Agency that deals with sanitary /accessibility codes and makes sure that comfort in building is maintained how it should be. Which means I work a lot with disabled and learn how they compensate and cope to make sure they needs are met. I'm considered top expert in that field, I even have a stamp to prove that. 🤷‍♂️

Here comes the comics dangerhair writer that wants to have a diasabled character. I say sure, but let's make it this kind of disabilty that ugly, painful and real, because there is no cutesy disability and I have all the exp AND access to actually disabled people that could chip in. She wasn't all that into it, so we settled for legs with braces/wheelchair (me to myself: yeah, nobody did that ever before...). 5 pages is there's a scene where this character is supposed to light a candle, walk the house in the middle of the night. I let them know it's stupid- barely walking person in the middle of the night would use open fire trying to walk the rooms they know perfectly by memory. What answer do I get?

"It's for aestetic purpose and why are you trying to take over the project?".

This is where sensitivity ends - at the verge of ugly reality. I get those e-mails monthly- hey let's do comics, and none of those dangerhairs treat it like a business, none of them know how to earn money. None of them even try to write interesting compelling story- it's usually dangerhair in a cafe with tidbits of xenofobia and entitlement.

And every time I pull out my expertise - be it doing freelance bussines, leading group of exceptional people on a project, earning money... the effect is always the same. They back away as if I'm trying to uncover them as talentless hacks. Hint: you do it on your own.

And I am so glad there is a pushback against all of this shit.

Even if the show flops Mags will probably make out pretty well in the short term. If you're used to comic book money, even low grade TV money is a huge boost.

How much money do they think they deserve as 'sensitivity reader', Zach made a good point how it should be 30min of work tops to do on a floppy and $15 would be overpaying. These cunts seem to feel entitled to hundreds per book.
:stress: This might be the funniest part of the whole thing. Screeching about needing unions, more pay, how shit their life is due to poverty, etc and yet they are still pretty satisfied overall.

These troons, never having had a job, seem to have deep delusions about how much people like Chelsea Cain actually make. Like she's some millionaire who could afford to pay some parasitic troon garbage hundreds of dollars to basically read comics and bitch and complain, which is what they already do for free.

Which really shows how shit their writing is regardless, as even as screenplays, their comics are shit, and would only ever translate into So Bad It's Good trash at best.

Chelsea Cain should just throw their criticism back at them.

"That isn't my story to tell. It would be wrong of me to culturally appropriate Trans women's lived experiences and try to tell that story from my own disingenuous POV."

The thing about SJW's is that they're so hypocritical that it's easy to throw their own buzzwords right back at them.

They were always going to attack the book either way.

Include trans: disingenuous of trans POVs
Exclude trans: trans erasure

She was fucked the moment she decided to make a book about periods.

Bingo. All she had to do was say, "I am not a trans woman and so it would be wrong for me to speak for them. I was just staying in my lane!". But if Chelsea was smart enough to do that, she wouldn't be dumb enough to get into comics or care what troons have to say in the first place.
