Yeah, but they’re not giving her Iron Man. They’re giving her ReeRee Williams Iron Heart. A character no one actually cares about.
Either she makes her a character people want to read or they memory hole her along with all of the other failed characters.
Bonus points that Marvel gets to say we gave a PoC woman superhero her own comic, written by a PoC woman and it just didn’t sell! Then she’ll disappear and never be mentioned again like the female Doctor Octopus.

The book got cancelled and now gets rebooted with the same writer who ran it into the ground.
I guess we can hope Cebulski is playing some 4d chess here to quietly contain the worst SJW characters, but I'd say it's more likely they're just in the process of doubling and tripling down on bad creative decisions. It's probably just a matter of time before America Chavez gets a new mini series with the same team who produced the astonishingly bad product last time.

Yea, I initially thought the DC Vertigo reboot with Zoe Quinn & Co was a way to contain the crazy over there and keep them away from the titles that matter. Now, like you with Cebulski, I'm not so sure.

At risk of sounding too much like an autist by explaining the joke, I think the key difference between C&H quoting Hamlet and SG name-dropping Dostoevsky is that Watterson's joke works on two fronts. It's funny from the perspective of a kid because of how Calvin's dinner seems so gross that even the food is contemplating death, and it's funny from the perspective of an adult because of how melodramatic it is for Calvin to compare his dinner to Hamlet. It also helps that with Watterson's lettering and character posing make it so that each bit of the soliloquy is broken down into small, more digestible segments that, if you aren't familiar with Hamlet, allow you to break down each line and understand what's being said through context clues.I hate to defend this nonsense in any way, but I specifically remember learning Hamlet's Soliloquy(or the first half anyways) from a sunday edition of Calvin & Hobbes. But Squirrel Girl doesn't begin to even attempt to hit all the high notes that C&H always did.
The problem with the Squirrel Girl "jokes" - if you can even call the Dostoevsky one a joke, there doesn't seem to be a punchline outside of North trying to look smart - is that the entire backbone of her comic is that Squirrel Girl is just oh-so-much smarter than everyone else and can point out these obvious plot holes like "durr hurr why does Kraven hunt Spiderman when he lives in a world with dinosaurs" (even though I'm pretty sure Kraven did hunt the Savage Land creatures) and is therefore always right. The punchlines for the first one is just that she's quoting "with great power there must also come great responsibility" but in French, and based on Spiderman's reaction that he's also too uneducated/ignorant to understand it. This isn't going to be funny to a kid because they're already out of the loop so they'll relate more to Spiderman, and most adults (unless you consider pretentious hipsters to count as adults) won't find it funny because they know that Ryan North is using Squirrel Girl as a mouthpiece to talk about what he considers to be the "obvious" flaws with Spiderman.
It would be more of a punchline if Spiderman shot down Squirrel Girl's lecture with "this guy has shot me, buried me alive, killed a whole lot of other people, hunted endangered species, abused his family, and murdered his own children; is this the hill you really wanna die on?" or if after Spiderman takes off Kraven immediately goes back to all of his old hunting ways because he hunts things for fun and that's his thing. At least that would subvert expectations.
