They had to cancel the new ultimate Spider-Man because it outsold the main line. Spider girl, which was his daughter was the most successful woman-led comic they ever had because they didn't have to re-fucking fresh it every year.

It's almost like it actually is what the audience wants and the company is refusing to acknowledge it and will continue to do so because it's backed by the rat and doesn't have to give a shit about making a single fucking penny and could actually lose them tens of millions a year and not matter. It's also almost like what a failure who fucking abandons his family three times in a row as a deadbeat would want, rather than shotgun mouthwash as he deserves.

When you see someone who is technically the same as you but finds success while you can't, it can be hard to look inside and ask what you did wrong. The idea that victory was an option and it slipped away can haunt you. EVS had that success. He was at DC and made at least one character everyone likes. He had the crown and now he has to beg for money.

Zack is similar. He went from the kid that thought he could make his dream come true to the man who found obstacles and hurdles one after another. And when he was finally beaten, he was done so by himself. He had the OCD tendencies that made him do things "his way", he had the laziness to do things at a pace that doesn't work. He was his greatest villain.

And here comes that Eric July guy that made everything look easy. Running a big company, distribution, getting celebrities to make comics for him etc etc. Some hood rapper from God knows where had all the success they were supposed to have and it makes them seethe.

I will say this though: Eric is more EVS' nemesis while the Drinker is more Zack's. Eric has the things EVS thought he would have. Meanwhile, the Drinker has largely replaced Zack as the pop culture jester that informs the public that the mainstream has no clothes. Also, I think Zack resents his success to an extend. Now, no one cares enough about comics to watch him mock them.

Envy is a DEADLY sin for a reason. A slow killer.

That’s because Eric understood that all he had to do was get the book in his customers hands ASAP, instead of making them wait for years like Richy Retardo and Fat boy did. You can only do that trick but so many times before people start walking away from you.

And Drinker’s success, IMO made Zack go full lefty.

It is more than that. EVS is like a Wizard of Oz who started gaslighting as soon as the curtain fell. EVS became addicted to the attention and now that people turned on him, he lashes out.

As for Zack, he saw something in the Drinker. His more successful counterpart to be exact. The Drinker is feared by everyone in mainstream entertainment while having managed to retain many friendships and his success. Zack has none of that anymore. The Drinker is successful but his similarities to Zack are his biggest source of envy.

EVS has to have something to talk about. And as un-enjoyable as his Eric July content is, having him talk about nothing at all would be even less enjoyable. To the remaining dead-enders in the comicsgate, content complaining about Eric July isn't all that much different than past content complaining about Tim Lim, Nerkish, Doug Tennapel, Doug Earnst, Captain Cummings, Warcampaign, Liam Grey or Yellow Flash. He has been sustaining his channel since the 2018 at least in part on endless purity tests and a hunt for traitors on the inside of CG. The audience, what little of it is left, is conditioned to it.

Honestly @FROG should have spent less time going after Eric July and MORE time delivering and creating his own books and not ripping his customers off....not to mention years of obsessing over everything and I mean EVERYTHING Eric July does. I KNOW he sees the errors in what he's doing, but at this point in time he doesn't want to hear it because that would force him to admit he was wrong and he will never do that.
