A grifter dosen't believe in what they say and only say it to get money

Eric is just a guy doing what he always wanted to do, make a comicbook company and univers. If you think his books are shit and he doesn't deserve his success that's one thing, but it's more about CG being butt hurt at his success than anything.
Take Dick for example, aside from because @FROG told him too, why does he hate Eric? Because he's good at business?
Because he has an audience?
Because he's """"NoT a ReAl FaN!!!"""?

A grifter dosen't believe in what they say and only say it to get money
using a black person to sell books is 100% grifting.
its like using cripple or starving children to sell stuff.
its preying on well meaning people who feel the need to help.

I can't believe people like that are still repeating that nonsense after all this time. It's not even hard to prove them wrong when it comes to readers enjoying the products at this point, and this elitist mindset of what they consider "REAL readers" is nothing more than a bad faith sense of over entitlement. I don't think he even read any of the books to begin with, I think he's just repeating the words of other people.....8 times out of 10 that's usually the case. Btw sorry for double posting, but I want people to actually respond to my comments on here.... They're unable to if I make them too long.

You do know Eric IS the black guy right?
And while Isom is a self inserted but he never brings up race into the story.

I literally haven't the slightest Idea what the fuck your talking about.
I'll just assume you're a comicsgate fag and move on.

He definitely speaks like one THAT'S for sure. 🙄 Same narratives, same talking points, same levels of stupidity and lack of self-awareness.

You do know Eric IS the black guy right?

I don't understand why it would be bad even if it was a self insert. I mean it's not like he would be the first person to make a character like that. These people just need something to complain about it seems.

Transcript:
Hi everyone, it's your boy Zach. I was all excited to do this video, and then I got super lightheaded. I'm like, oh, I haven't eaten anything all day.

So, problem solved. But anyway, so Dark Horse, of all things, has been in the news a lot lately. Because it got bought, and then they fired the founder, and then they just closed the stores that I think the founder ran.

He used to run a store, and then he decided to start publishing back in the 80s, and now they have a... union. I don't know. I can only name one comic they're doing right now, which is this Usagi 1984, which I'm actually really liking.

It's got this great painted style, and at the end... they do sketches and stuff like that, that's cool. But at the end, they do this one-page comic just about the creators and creating the story, and that's super fun. It's also really good for... oh! Great news.

I have found, or rather someone found me, a store that is willing to take money to offset the pirated books that I read every month. I couldn't find anyone. Although, the guy was like, hey, can we just have a phone call instead of back-and-forth emails? I was like, ooh, type of guy.

But we should have that hammered out. So the deal is, I started pirating comics, and then I pirated a lot, and then it was one of those things where it's like, I need to do something about this. So then I was like, I went to comic book shops here, but they stink.

Like, B.O. Like, really bad. And then the other thing is that my eyesight has changed in some weird way where it's difficult for me to read some types of print. So, glossy pages that are curved a little because they're not perfectly flat, plus the very lurid colors on a lot of comics, plus the sometimes very small font.

And, like, I can read a newspaper, a magazine, but comics these days, like, I'm just... it's a weird feeling. So I was like, I'm reading like 30 comics a month. Like, I should be paying for these.

But I don't want the physical comics. I don't want to store them. I don't want to go to comic book stores.

But I should... I'm not owed these things, and I can definitely afford it. So I finally found someone who will take my money. But this right here is a really good, like, anti-piracy... it's just meant to be like a folksy thing.

But it really reminds you, it's like, hey, real people make this comic. I'm currently very down on the idea of AI comics. I was thinking, it's like, oh, I can use it for some things.

And, you know, things that wouldn't be viable, and I would lose a ton of money, and I can do like a 300 page. But I don't think we're ever going to have a time. AI art is going to get better, but we are always going to recognize it as AI art.

It's funny, there's this... they talk about the Uncanny Valley, and somebody made this point once where they're like, humans have developed an extraordinary sense of telling something that looks human but isn't human. And I'm like, why? When did we have the need? When were there things that looked human but weren't human? And we really needed to be able to identify them, but we're really good at that. So even as AI improves, we are going to improve, and everyone's always going to be able to tell.

So stuff like this really humanizes. It's like, oh, there's a person, and they have little glasses that they have to pay for, and little hats, and they live in a place, and they got to pay for all this stuff, and so we should pay them for it. So I'm very, very, very, very excited to give someone money that I don't know.

Here's some money. I'm just trying to make things right with the universe. But getting to the topic at hand, comics has been invaded twice in the last 10 years by political activists.

First it was the left wing, and now, and currently, it is the right wing. And we don't need to gatekeep, well, how would I say this? We don't need to gatekeep a lot, but we do need to gatekeep a little. One of the things I've been getting really bothered with, Perch and his letter writers, who I hate, is I consider all of the questions to be stalling questions, in that they are, hey, I want to talk about comics, but I don't want to read them.

And it's like, well, if you don't want to read them, they're books, and why are you here? So why don't you just leave? Because there's tons of good books. There's a couple dozen books every month that are good to great. So, like, you know, it's like, hey, Perch, I was thinking, what's the deal with the metal staples? Can't we do something? Maybe they should just shut the fuck up.

What are the last five comics you read? I'm not even going to say this month. This year. Name five comics you read.

They don't even have to be new. You haven't read five comics this year? Shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear about, well, what's the deal with legacy numbering? It's like, you're just stalling.

You are not reading comics. You just want to talk about them and kind of complain about them. So when someone doesn't talk about comics a lot, and then they suddenly do, it's okay to question them.

For instance, if they're just doing AI, it's just like an AI written coverage of Dark Horse forming a union. I don't even know what they print. They shut down their physical stores.

They got rid of their founder and didn't replace him. They had the Mark Millar books, but I think he's still got some coming out, but not currently. What do they do? I mainly know them for alien licensed books.

They did the Star Wars in the 90s through 2010 or something like that. They're not one of those like, oh, Dark Horse. That was something special.

It was just something. It was just something. It was just a thing.

They made good comics, but their legacy is just kind of licensed stuff that's solid. I guess they've done some good stuff. 2026, in the very fun comic book medium right now, nobody gives a fuck about Dark Horse.

So why are you talking about it? Oh, you're right-wing. You don't like unions. Fine, whatever.

But then I see shit like this, and I'm just like, you know, like Spain. I read these articles like there's too many tourists, so they just start spraying them with water pistols. Just go away.

Go complain about, I don't know, woke James Bond wants to kill you. Just get the fuck out of comics. We have been invaded twice in a decade.

Give us a Kali Yuga cycle of rest. I used to joke about there was these cycles in comics where it's like five years of everyone loving Alan Moore, five years of everyone hating Alan Moore, then five years where they just don't talk about him at all. And for a while, Rob Liefeld was like the same thing.

We've been invaded by the left. We've been invaded and occupied by the right. Can we just have a couple years where we're just reading comics? Like we're not your little chew toy for activists.

So he shows the logo for the Dark Horse Union of ten people? I don't know. And then he shows the Antifa logo and he says, I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Well, it probably is because these marks right here are registration marks.

You see them on original art. This is a way to line things up for the printer. So the image would be perfectly parallel and perpendicular.

I'm not quite sure why the edge of the paper didn't serve that function. But there's also a thing, a lot of original art, you'll see it's like clipped on one corner, which means it's been spayed or neutered. I don't know why, but there's a ton of them.

A ton of them. They're just kind of like... See, this is one of the many reasons why you don't murder people like Ed Piscor, because he would know why. A lot of original art doesn't have the corners on it.

So yeah, so these are, they did registration marks. The registration mark has four quadrants because it's got a crosshairs in the middle of it. And there's four colors in printing comics.

The most fundamental basic knowledge of comic book printing is all it requires to understand why these two things are different. But to a tourist, or let's say an invader, what's the difference between a tourist and an invader? I guess tourists like buy stuff from gift shops. I don't think a lot of invading armies.

Yeah. But yeah, so that's the main difference. But you're not here for love of comics.

You're not here because you read comics. You're here for your political bullshit. We dealt with that with the SJWs.

They have been fairly well dealt with. They're not really acting up that much. Most of them are just in a horrific cycle of poverty.

Just like constantly on the edge of homelessness and yet also going on vacations. Okay, so yeah. So I am actually sure it's just a coincidence because it is a coincidence.

Logos are typically bounded in some ways. It's a common thing to put them in a circle. The symbolism of this is that this is registration marks.

These are the four colors of offset printing of comics. Yeah, so go away. Go complain about whatever you Alpha Patriots Minnie Mouse told Mickey Mouse what to do in a cartoon made for four-year-olds.

So go defend culture elsewhere. We're trying to enjoy comics and not continually be invaded by right-wing and left-wing shitheads. Anyway, this is actually really cool.

It's Dinesh Shamdasani. He was the guy who bought Valiant a while ago. He's currently with that annoying, like, Bad Idea Comics.

We're not selling comics. We're selling napkins. And if you collect... They just do these stupid-ass stunts.

So I was always aware of this website. But I didn't know people showed their collections. And he's got, like, really good stuff.

He's rich, so he's got, like, classic works of original art. Oh, look at that. Todd McFarlane signature.

Jeez. Usually they wouldn't do, like, a signature. They would just, like, write their name.

That's nice. That's frickin' cool. Did I say how much money? Is there a way where I can click on, like, his whole collection? I don't think so.

Oh, there it is. Look at that. So this is his collection.

First full appearance of Gambit. That was kind of a weird thing. Gambit debuted, like, twice in the same week.

Or within a week of each other. I forget which one. I think it was the same week.

Oh, shit. He's got the Barry Windsor Smith. Wow.

Okay, this is a crazy collection. Was he? He was rich before comics, right? Yeah. There's a saying that how do you make a million dollars in comics? You start off with two million dollars.

Nice. I'm definitely going to spend some time checking out the different collections. That is so cool.

That's good stuff. But, yeah. Anyway, so we've been invaded a couple times recently with no breaks in between.

And we are due. We are due some peace and some freedom from these political shitheads who have no respect for art. They're not here for the culture.

They're just here for the culture war. And, again, there it is right there. Oh, they got him.

They got him here. They got him there. They got him everywhere.

Anyone who knows about comics knows they might not know what registration marks are called, but they know what they are. So, anyway, thanks for watching. There it is.

Thanks for watching. Bye.

You do know Eric IS the black guy right?

You are falling for the oldest trick in the book.

Honestly bro It'd make more sense if you were to take up a more racist argument against Eric and his books.
"Comics is a White man's medium! It's no place for niggers or jews or faggots and this guy's at least two of these!"

WHAT FUCKING TRICK SHIT HEAD????
No one is buying Rippahverse comics because they're advertised as the first black thingy! What the fuck are you talking about???
In news about someone in comicsgate rather than another ten Richard Meyer posts, Evan Sciver is apparently doing covers for money.

Cut out of the industry btw.

Almost 4 years later and they still waste their time ankle biting someone they don't like and want to convince everyone else not to like either..... well they came to the wrong thread to pull that crap. I understand not everybody here is going to enjoy Eric July or Rippaverse but that doesn't mean we're going to waste our time hating on him either, least of all with the crap these people choose to repeat and from WHO. They want to hate him because of his skin color, that's their business.... but the fact people like him think they can gaslight any of us into agreeing with them ESPECIALLY with the shit THEY come up with and repeat is just....WOW it's so stupid. 🤦 My MICROWAVE has shown more intelligence and self awareness than these people do. Honestly I don't know why they come on this thread thinking anyone here thinks Eric July or Rippaverse is worth going after after all this time, but they REALLY need to find better things to do and better people to go after.
