Fair enough. I'm sure there were a few people who never touched a comic before that said it back then. It certainly wasn't the prevailing opinion though.

i remember a time when he was raging at heather antos like ruining comics or gi joe comics making the soldiers gay or something, he always kinda ends it with a long winded story telling session where he would blurt some ideas on what the story would be like in the comics he is ranting in the video if he was instead the writer....

and then when he started doing crowdfunding comics, i am actually baffled as to why he isnt using those big brained story ideas and instead done the same sjw bullshit he was complaining about

I think, he is still hoping in one way or another that he is able to get in DC or Marvel as a writer or something and "saving" his big brained story ideas once he gets in

His whole point in doing that was you could have a gay black woman as a protagonist and the comic could be entirely about a story that doesn’t revolve around her being gay or black. The haircut was a joke aimed at all the other characters like that.

It’s a blatant bit of parody and the fact I’m having to explain it makes me think universal franchise was a mistake.

Why are they mad? According to them and EVS in particular, Riley is hilarious. He's a good guy who did nothing wrong and Eric is a jerk for getting him arrested. Why wouldn't he be all for finding a guy like Riley?

Isn't this the same guy who complained about Marvel and DC chasing off their customers for years? But suddenly it's derangement if you do the same to Hollywood. Zack please stop sweeping Hollywood, people are allowed to stop patronizing a company after being burned by the products. This isn't even new for Disney, they've been getting shit on for years because people take issue with the way they run the company

I remember his Spawn video. Basically, Zack has a bunch of biases about what makes a good comic. So, he decided to rewrite Spawn in a video because he hated a bunch of stuff about Spawn except the character design. For example, he hated the whole supernatural angle, so he changed the origin to (Silly Comicbook-Style) Science Fiction. He hated that Al Simmons was a resuscitated corpse with regrets left over from his past life, so he made him a living "bad-ass" cop. Well, by the end of the video he had completed his cringe rewrite that was really nothing like Todd McFarlane's Spawn, and suggested he might make his own comic using the premise. I hope he realizes if he ever does try to do that, he can't just do this...

Holy shit, I completely let the satirical genius of Richard C Meyer fly right over my head. What an absolute masterstroke.
I'm completely blown away that he would rant about using his platform to "take a stand" and parrot leftist talking points and then design a comic character who is functionally the same as the characters nobody likes to read about and write them into a comic nobody wanted to read at all.

I stand corrected. It's brilliant. Should have made a million instead of $15,000.
