i dont think thats really the grift because no one is thinking "oh this think will go from a national powerhouse franchise to being reduced to total obscurity to the point no one remembers it at all". if thats the standard corporations would probably just flaunt their power more openly to just openly insult people en masse in no uncertain terms because its unlikely that even doing that will knock them off the perch that badly in one single lifetime or a few decades.

now that is the grift. theyre parasitic and if the mainstream media didnt exist newswise or entertainment wise theyd starve. and the shifting opinion. i remember when it turned out the zoomers actually for some reason liked the fallout show instead of just accepting they had a less popular opinion they immediately tried to make it into some antiwoke vanguard programming.
 
The problem is that Furiosa changes nothing. Sure, you could say we should support the few times Hollywood doesn't totally fuck up to incentivize them to fuck up less, but you could also argue (and far more accurately) that they'll likely learn absolutely nothing and use the money you gave them as a reward for not fucking up that one time to fund their ever-growing war on everything you ever loved.
For another thing Furiosa isn't really a sign that they're not going to keep fucking up. They decide to ditch the iconic lead for which the entire series was named and go with a female character we really didn't care all that much about? There's really only one reason to do that: To appeal to the woke crowd. So even when they're not totally fucking up, they're still fucking up. They're just dialing back how hard they fuck up to make idiots think they didn't fuck up at all.

I don't support Hollywood AT ALL anymore. I won't even pirate their modern shit. If I want entertainment, well I have decades of unspoiled, untainted movies and shows I've never seen and can live on quite happily that will cost me nothing but time and a bit of data to obtain. Now if you'll excuse me I recently started a rewatching of Hercules the Legendary Journeys.

This is all a fine opinion, and I can respect the sentiment.
My issue is, people (not referring to you) who continuously make long winded posts/videos about the Go Woke Go Broke brigade and how they’re terrible/grifters/never happy/ etc.

Ok, point made. If you keep following them, talking about them, laying this out over and over because you don’t like them. Guess what. You are them.

They don’t like Hollywood and the current political reign, so they talk about it non-stop.

Now, there are people that don’t like them, and talk about them non-stop. However, they try to add some dumb righteous topping to it about they’re better and different for outrage posting.

That's the thing, Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general have broken faith with their audience. People are sick of being lectured to instead of being entertained. The customer doesn't want to be told what stories and characters they must like, they want the stories and characters they do like.

It's kind of like the way Zack has broken faith with his old audience. They liked watching Zack when he was sticking up for what they enjoyed, they don't want to listen to a guy berating them for not wanting to like or see a movie they're not interested in.
 
People like Zack should have started making anime and manga content to go along with their western comics/commentary stuff (the Comicstorian R.I.P. did it and it worked). It would actually pad their numbers (though they might need another channel), expand their audience and they would be consuming actually well made products by people who do not hate them. By stubbornly clinging to making western comics alone, they continue to tap at an ever dwindling audience that leaves because western comics suck right now and have been doing so for a while. The weebs would have welcomed him (they welcomed booktubers afterall, Zack would be easy) but now it is too late.

They did it because Anya Taylor Joy is doing extremely well right now and has a good reputation and the creator probably wanted to do something different as he was happy with how the story in the previous films was told. Like I know it’s easy to sperg about this shit, I am guilty of it too, but sometimes it’s just not that deep or cynical all the time. There are endless movies coming out even now with male leads that are shit with shit stores, or mediocre slop. Appealing to the “woke crowd” takes more than a female lead, especially a white one, and they know that by now. The issue is Hollywood if full of true believers (ideologues) who will keep funding dogshit, but it’s not like that dogshit never makes money, cinemas/theatres dying, and the reliance on unoriginal ideas because they are too scared to make much without a built-in audience.

I cant stress this enough how for Two months he blamed the comic industry of murdering a dude, no fucking shit anti-sjws are radicalized enough to not like western media anymore because the comics industry is the number 1 source for the movie industry.

But then Hollywood is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on personal vanity projects. A director might want to do something that would please him personally, but it doesn't mean the general public would be interested in it.

We've been hearing that same kind of justification for years from creators throughout Hollywood. The people who have taken established series like Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, the Witcher, etc, and have totally changed them say they felt like doing something different that would please them instead of giving the audience what they like. It's no mystery why these radical departures from the source material keep failing.

I think he should have taken a deep breath, went back to fullfilling his obligations, talked with his fans and taken a break. Neither side can be called fully wrong or fully right but Zack went scorched earth on his own fanbase. There are better ways to handle things.

Late and gay in this but I saw EVS ripping into Az on a clip attacking him for being a 40 year old man who collects figurines and toys (after having a good go at him for trying to get fitter.)
