The plot and setting of the first game are stupid and forgettable so I get that much. They're still skinwalking the IP but it's not like there's much of an IP to skinwalk. Who really knows.
The weird thing that it was in the same universe as God Eater, which seems to also be dead. Either they want to reboot to remove the reference or they want to reboot God Eater as well.

Should I try code vein after I finish SiN episodes emergence?
It is possibly my favourite of the souls-like-ish games I have played, so yes!

I especially loved the soundtrack and the photo mode. The outfit customization is also rather nice, you can color various individual armor pieces. I had ~500 screenshots I made in it as my desktop wallpapers for years until Stellar Blade came out for PC.

I remember the DLCs kind of suck though...

Listen to March of The Lost: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlu7hZSeXU0

The game also got me listening to Vamps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQtCJ2r1Qnw

Here are some screenshots too:

Also a bunch of screenshots of backstabbing violating enemies with the claw:

It amused me how she was gesticulating as if saying "look at my massive melons! they really did a number on my back!" (that's obviously not what she was saying but you get the picture)

From what I remember they were barely DLCs and were just 3 slightly larger dungeons with a couple weapons and blood codes in each, none of which I think were any good. Definitely not worth buying as they add nothing substantial to the game.

I think the blood code from the ice one is considered bis for magic build, some just hate it because it so fricking heavy. But aside from that yeah the dlc is kind of bad for price/content ratio. Personally I like fighting the Hellfire Knight though.

Why is this a reboot anyways? When the original game ends on a cliffhanger and very clear sequel bait?
because they never made it, likely company restructuring, also the Code Vein characters were way down on the power scaling compared to God Eater considering the secret boss and reveal, so the protags in that setting are now super fucked, there's no way they'd take on all that shit, its the reason the Dome went up to begin with.

Wouldn't surprise me if they want to reboot God Eater as well.
