CNN pulled the "report" a few minutes after this was posted

Pretty weird stuff a major news network caught staging a "breaking news report"

snopes and politifact and all the other "fact checking" organizations are very partisan in their reporting, so it is unsurprising they line up behind the mainstream media in this case.

You know, mediaite did this right, and the snopes article even quotes them -

That said, there is reason to fairly critique this as “editorializing” the shoot and not just reporting the news. And in a climate where CNN is feeling a lot of criticism — most of which is unfounded — from the conservative corners of the Internet, this footage won’t help their cause.

Because whether it's common practice in live news reporting or not, it looks shady as fuck and isn't just reporting what happened.

Of course, you can't expect any better from snopes.
