I was going to write something about how avante guarde fashion has changed over time, but then that fat cancer hit my eyeballs and I have to go ice them.

Excuse me.

That would look shit on anyone. Empire is not a flattering waist style.

Empire waist looks good in period costume, and if someone is decently proportional. All other times, no. Leave that stuff in Jane Austen adaptations where it belongs.

Have to speak up for leggings and yoga pants, though. They're not at all stylish, but if you buy decent quality (IE, not paper-thin Lululemon bullshit) and don't go super skin-tight, they're pretty good for wearing around the house or to the grocery store. Very much a casual thing, though.

In my experience leggins are only wearable if you have super thin or toned thighs.
Mine are pretty thick so they look extremely weird in leggins because at the part where thighs and hips meet it kinda dents out. (I think this is called hip dips)

I kinda like those high-art fashion shows. While most of the outfits used are definitely not wearable, I think they can look pretty cool.

Graphic long sleeve tee with a much more formal-looking, full-length skirt. Why is so much #plussizeootd so frumpy?

I would wear that skirt. I would also wear it with a tshirt, but I acknowledge I have no taste.

I really dislike those black lace pants. Please don't make clothes out of estate sale curtains.

I knew somebody who dressed like that often. She weighs about 230 pounds, was 5'3'' and would wear a dress like this:

She didn't get as many compliments as she hoped.

Anyways, I was looking for a school uniform for dance crew and--

Well, I yielded some interesting results.

Any else who thinks goth fashion is overrated? Wearing pentacle belts, ankh jewelry, or shirts/dresses with Baphomet(???) and Lucifer seem incredibly try-hard and cringe worthy. Are there any kiwis here that find a particular style grating or annoying?

I've seen it done well but age, size etc have a lot to do with it. Fine line between looking interesting/good and oh dear God no.

Fat middle aged women wearing cheap stretch velvet are a great example. Usually seen with a lanky, balding on top but long at the back haired husband in a stinky leather jacket and trousers.

I like my cute Baphomet. :(
