It’s funny to read reviews on steam and 90+% of negative reviews are from bads who get extremely filtered by dodging and parrying and want the game to be baby mode for them :story:
It doesn't help that the beginning of the game was probably the hardest part. You have so few tools and your healing items aren't as strong and very limited in quantity. Once I got past the first maybe quarter of the game it got a lot easier (at least on the normal difficulty).

i mean a slight indicator of when to parry or dodge would be somewhat useful. doesnt need to be too obvious, maybe a slight slomo or something because that window is tighter than a virgin

Audio cues are pretty obvious on some enemies. Other than that, just utilize dodge until you learn the attack pattern.

1.2 million copies in three days? I'm happy for the devs but it makes me really sad knowing that probably within the year this studio will be acquired by either Sony or Microsoft and destroyed for either ideological or financial reasons.
Idk aren't the Dev former Megacorp Drones? If anything they see how they can outsell the megaslop without some shitty board or Ceo ruining their vision. Back in the day the classic games that everyone makes videos on were most of the time a made by a couple people in like a garage. Any Devs with actual talent should combine and make their own thing as it will be infinitely better than anything the big companies could produce and if they come sniffing around you tell them to fuck off.

Oh boy I can't wait to talk more about this game in this thread that had been actually productive before. Nevermind /v/tards have seemingly not gone back.

>Kojima includes a quest about delivering nigger cum, in his game that is basically just a rant about how borders b racis n shiet
>Nagoshi includes a quest where you help illegal immigrants and a whole quest line about how "sex work is real work"
>Swery65 makes a game about a tranny getting his dick inverted and how christians are heckin bigots
>Atlus makes a game where "diversity is our strength" is literally hammered into your skull with the subtlety of a nuke in every line of dialogue and plot point
*crickets*
>Western dev has one black character that gets killed immediately and a few non interactable black NPCs
WOKE SLOP FUCKING LOOK SOYTHETIC MAN MADE A VIDEO ON IT!

What if there's a person who is actually consistent and thinks all of that is trash?

Just asking. I have actively evaded Deadly Premonition 2 due to the troon.

I’ve played a little bit, maybe a few battles into Act 1.
I like everything about it, except that it feels very unreal engine in the exploration.
I enjoyed the era of games where there were a lot of game engines so everything felt like it’s own game.
Other then that one small thing it’s really fun, looking forward to playing more.

Get fucked, you trumpet faggot!

Flawless victory!

I play on Expert, like a true sweat.

Good shit. Keep in mind Expert gets really fucking hard around Act 2 as you go around doing side content. It's still a lot of fun and by the time you're in Act 2 you have so many pictos that do so many cool things that you can even tank some of the heavier hits. I'm sure the endgame builds are going to go crazy.

Also I genuinely have no clue how Sciel works I've barely been using her throughout the game. She's always been my clutch backup and that's about it. Maelle is still the main powerhouse of the team. It's also very very cool that in Act 2 Vergo is literally a fucking DMC character with the style meter as a mechanic. I still have to get more skills for him or respec because I barely use half of em.

If I’m correct, her foretells strengthen her abilities. Swap Lune out with her. She’s much better. She’s also just a better healer. Maelle, Sciel, and uh, you know who are
the most powerful party members in the game.

I've yet to use Sciel myself, but at a cursory glance, she has a rather strong kit.

On the topic of powerhouses, I'm starting to appreciate Lune a whole lot more. Good use of stains can output incredible damage. In my previous video, I didn't have the correct stains for a skill, but in this one, I do, and the difference in damage is night and day.

Yeah Lune, especially with some of her healing abilities, becomes absolutely necessary when fighting some of these bosses in Expert mode. They will one or two shot you without proper support or Auto Shell or something like that. I thought about putting on the Picto that halves damage by 50 and reduces healing but the last thing I'd want is to be fucked over by a situation I could easily heal out of. Then again, I could just git gud and lern2parry. I might full spec into making her support because she's way too useful to not have and if you have enough healing stains, rezzes are free.

EDIT: That volleyball minigame is complete fucking bullshit level 3 fucks you over if you mess up one. The animation is waaaay too slow to be able to recover if you mess up.

Just play the story mode.

Lmao

Parry and dodging is gay as fuck tho. Literally only way to win a boss fight.....

The game is guuuuud. I want to fuck lune so bad.

As I play more I'm getting a dark feeling in my stomach that we're going to be seeing a LOT of pooner fanfiction about Gustave. It's like the character designers specifically made him for that purpose. Him in that blue suit is tailor-made for tumblr hornyposting.

In a few weeks we're going to have terabytes of images of Gustave with mastectomy scars looking sultrily at the camera.
He's voiced by Charlie Cox, one of the fave bean-flicker material of cat ladies. I believe they also tried to include his real life facial features here, but they messed it up.

So it won't just be troons. It will be practically every fanfiction author in the entire diaspora from AO3 to Pixiv.

Personally, I feel that he's barely in the game to warrant much notice. My money is on Verso being the honeypot - swooning, brooding misunderstood woobie, angst, and facial hair wrapped up in the package that comes with a "Fanfic/Fanart Me!" tag.

The voice actor for Gustav sounds very familiar, at least when he actually speaks instead of grunting.
I looked it up and apparently he's Charlie Cox(Daredevil), which kind of explains why he wouldn't speak since I doubt they'd afford him voicing five different variants of MMMMM INTERESTING for x690 chroma drops.

Game's fun so far. I am worried the six skills per character limitation will make difficulty on the low side because I cannot imagine you balancing this properly. Lune's stain management is fun and Maelle's stances is also quite fun, Gustav is so fucking boring I really wonder what his other skills will be because otherwise he's going at the back of the bus the second I get a new character.

I'm about 20 or so hours in, I'd say I'm about halfway through Act 2, but I'm trying to do as much of the side content as possible and holy shit do some of these secret bosses get fucking sweaty, they all get like a million turns and straight up one or two fuck ups and it's over (The guy in Falling Leaves is a nigger and I was so happy when I finally kicked his teeth in.).
Still having a blast tho, the combat is still fun and figuring out the various gimmicks the side bosses have make each one interesting.

Oh and FUUUUUUUUCK that volleyball game!

I think I'm going to drop Maelle. I know she's super strong, but my dumbass brain can't figure out how to make her useful. She's constantly losing stance because she has no AP to use her stance. I tried slotting in Mezzo Forte as a bridge, but then she just gets targeted hate and dies or gets stunned.
