If you consider Half-life in the category, MarphitimusBlackimus (or something like that) does Decino-style breakdowns for that game.
And for someone more light-hearted, I always shill my boy JollyWangcore, simply because he has similar humour to Civvie. He doesn't quite do reviews, insomuch that he streams Half-Life/2 mods on Twitch, and posts a polished version on Youtube afterwards.

*feels like this thread is sort of a gman, civvie et al type gaming youtuber thread but if mods or anyone else doesn't like the link, I'm happy to ditch it.
I was wondering about that. Most of these reviewers don't publish often enough to keep a thread going. Maybe merge it all into a single "Game Reviewers" thread or something like that?
In the time between his videos I'm fine with it being more general chit-chat about other youtubers and games that exist in the general sphere of what civvie covers. Was it Bruno Mattei that played Witchaven 2? Topical. Brief Powerslave discussion, feels topical. It's not like anyone is talking about gacha games.
The sound effects video was good as well. As a child and not understanding the concept of stock sounds, I was rather confused why other tv shows and games kept stealing Doom's fireballa and door opening sounds
The video to Beastie Boys "Body Movin'" uses the death sound effect from old X-Com and hearing that was like being with smelling salts.

Jolly is awesome, that's a great pick as well. He's definitely less intelligent informative, though.

I've been watching him for quite some time, and it's been fun watching his content evolve from simple text commentaries to full blown spoken commentaries with text accompanying the funny/"dramatic" moments. I remember when he first started speaking and he was slightly awkward but he's improved his craft dramatically. Also I never realized just how insane Half-Life mods can get until I started watching him.

It's the opposite for me. I feel like he's trying too hard to play the role of awkward retard that he accidentally created for himself. I definitely prefer his early silent videos with occasional text on screen.

Ross Scott cameod in a civvie video and my lord, I love that bastard. I hope the mold will keep Ross alive for aeons to come.
I quite like game dungeon, and freeman's mind is classic (although I've found the last few a bit stale), but I struggle with his video chats where he always seems to complain about how behind schedule he is - dude, you make YT vids, its not rocket science - and he just seems a bit idk anaemic and daft with some wider opinions. Nothing personal against him for that.

With Ross it seems to be that he'll constantly think of a way to work faster only to waste a ton of time on it and then decide it's not worth it. But his stuff are so good they make the wait worth it.

Neil Patrick Harris is wearing an awesome coat.

I'm glad he's pointed out that the retro boomer-shooter market is going to crash soon. Because holy shit it is.
