Well I love Mega Man 6 but hate Mega Man 5. 6 is like 2 but more, 5 has those weird cloaked bosses you have to guess who they actually are before setting your weapon and it sucks, also the slowdowns and weapons that were not very fun to use.

Same fore Mega Man 3 vs 4. 3 has slowdowns so bad it's basically unplayable and the weapons suck ass while 4 is a retread of 2.
"Weird cloaked bosses?" Umm.. you sure you don't mean Mega Man 3? (I assume you're talking about the Dark Man battles tho).

Thing I was getting at is for me the differences between Heretic and Doom aren't big enough that there's a point picking favorites outside of just "I prefer one aesthetic over another."

Obviously, Civvie would be the last person to do so since he enjoys getting his neghole pozzed, even if he pretends he is disinterested in it.
Personal rrat, but this might explain why he refuses to do the original Deus Ex: he says it's because it's, and I quote, "boring", but in reality he's intentionally overdosing himself on bluepills so he won't have to go out of his imsim comfort zone.

As in, from Thief games to one weirdly prophetic cyberpunk dystopia that's drastically less stylish and faggoted than CP2077.

Mega Man 3 was basically coded by a retarded child:
So was Mega Man 2.

And 1. Especially 1.

Mega Man 3 is some straight-up sicko shit. "Hey let’s do Ghosts ’n Goblins but worse, let’s make him replay half the game except this time we crank up the difficulty and watch him lose his mind.”
"Worse" is really stretching it for a game that has a password system, versus a shitty NES port coded by two scriptkiddies in their garage - and if you just so happened to live in the same country as them, you would've only gotten one continue by default.

After all this time I’m still slack-jawed at how much content they crammed into those old DOS games. Months ago I fired up Blood to see what all the hype was about and oh my god, that thing is a monster. I tapped out somewhere after the carnival level. I don’t even want to imagine how long it takes on Extra Crispy (more enemies, makes them all twice as hard to kill).
I almost did the first episode on Extra Crispy. The carnival level proper is manageable. The secret level after it, though, is sheer fucking suicide. That, and the Cheogh boss fight feels downright impossible - moreso if you savescum, because I assume even NBlood just resets boss health on every reload.

The second episode is unironically easier. That's specifically on Extra Crispy.

Who the hell thinks Deus Ex is boring? It's one of the greatest PC games ever made.

???

Okay.

I never thought Deus Ex was that controversial.

I never thought Deus Ex was that controversial.
Neither did I, I'm just conspiracyposting, at this point.

See, one time he was accidentally prophetic with his... honestly distasteful epidemic + "fuck whitey" rant, allegedly in character, his scripted reaction was "...OH MY GOD", so I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to suppress the amounts of /pol/ in his future shit.

...except he already failed that by migrating over to Bluesky, so...

...oh, right, he did try to skip over a few blatant /pol/ moments in his Soldiers of Fortune video! Apparently being uncomfortable up until the game pulled out The Yakudzza™. Didn't help with YT age restricting the vid, though, so I guess I'm gonna rest my case until Civvie releases his disgruntled and unenthusuastic playthrough of DX next year or so.

Okay, I did kinda mandela myself with the direct quote, so my bad for being a misleading little fuck. That being said,

The review ending with promoting another shitty indie shooter that no one will remember is hypocritical. In general the Civvie cameos in those games are reason enough not to buy them.
Selaco lmao

I know this might sound like heresy for some, but Selaco's dev had a fucking meltdown over his game winning THE POPULAR VOTE on Stuttering Craig's Real Game Awards. Because, you see, it's too far right. So yeah, praying for Selaco to never leave early access, much like Ultrakill probably never will.

...well, at least one thing I can say about Brutal John 2 is that it's not made by a troon - it's from some Russian dude with aggressively normie tastes. If John's accent and ESL weren't dead giveaways, the antag of BJ1 is named Lousilian. That one could've easily been a pun on "lousy alien", sure - but fun fact, that actually comes from a very low-effort bootleg translation of Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown on the PS1. Literally, from the misheard opening line of Hollywood Holocaust, which had mutated into "damn, this bastard Lousilian will pay".

I mean, Craigs shitty game awards did get every grifting faggot under the sun, whos cocks he sucked off. So, I dunno why the Selaco dev even cared for that shit, when that whole video was filled with people who all deserved a baseball bat to the face.

Honestly, as bad as The Real Game Awards was, calling it "shitty" would mean throwing a compliment to any given Game Advertisements 20XX, or any post-millenium E3.

Well, Deus Ex does have a epidemic plot. That might have him spooked. Now that I think of it, he did seem uncomfortable when that subject was lampooned in Postal 4.

Plus, I always interpreted the "Cancer Mouse" gag was him expressing his distain for /pol/. I don't know if Civvie is a complete shitlib, but he does seem like a guy who is scared of getting cancelled.

The funny thing is, Deus Ex got it all wrong. In Deus Ex, the government is intentionally keeping the vaccine from people, and the resistance is fighting to get it. In our reality, the government is trying to mandate the vaccine, and there's resistance to that.

I have heard people try and claim that Deus Ex is super deep and prophetic, but I honestly don't see it. I think Warren Spector just took a bunch of basic conspiracy theory tropes (Illuminati, Majestic 12, etc.) and threw them against the wall.

Deus Ex is a very well crafted and fun game that's held up all these years, but nothing more complex than that. Its story is, IMO, pretty mid.

It's like how in the X-Files, the glowniggers are the kinda-sorta good guys who in their heart of hearts do it out of sense of duty to God, Country & Mom's Apple Pie. This would not fly *at all* anytime past September 11, 2001 and I'm not talking about the planes.

Warren Spector took the bottomlessly stupid concept of "the Avatar meets Nikola Tesla and Rasputin" and made it work without reducing it all to a self parody on the level of "Darth Vader conquers the Martians". It's not how basic the trope is, it's how you paint with it, to paraphrase a saying. Even before 9/11 Deus Ex was getting all-star 10/10 glowing reviews.

Doublepost but it's fun to break the rules sometimes.
I mean, what kind of iron-plated gall does it take to be offended that somebody you don't like likes you? Like, how fucking entitled can you be? Especially if you're professing to be a member of the supposedly opressed class. When the alt-right grifter who wears eyeliner comes off like less of a cocksucker than you, you have problems... ma'am.

Deus Ex does have a lot of silly to it, but the stuff it got right - accidentally or not - really helps ground it further. Even if the accuracy of said predictions is sitting at "we can forecast the weather accurately, we just don't know the date yet".

Yeah, I am deliberately ignoring the jank or goofiness in Deus Ex's overarching plot, mostly because of the "there's no way it's gonna happen" becoming "the thing that never happens" as it keeps happening over and over again. Like, sure, the Second Government™ (Paige's outfit specifically, in this case) withholds the Gray Death vaccine to keep the populace under pressure, while in real life, the vaccines were mandatory products for a good while now. Regardless of what you think is in Pfizer's/Moderna's/whoever's healing water, there's a sleuth of themes you could trace down in both fiction and reality, namely: corporate lobbying, governmental overregulation, man-made diseases and, of course, absolute power. One uses basically scorched earth (or basically capital-communist) tactics to achieve that, the others basically capitalise on the tragedy.

We don't quite have the bumtown version of New York that's in the game, but NY is doing their damnedest to get there :Eli:

There's more to Deus Ex's "conspiracies" than that in terms of its' story, obviously, but I'm pretty sure you saw Ross Scott's pre-scamdemic video on it already.

EDIT: Oh, and one thing Deus Ex missed is how the alleged resistence will, in fact, be the biggest cocksuckers for the regime, - or the bread and circus adjacent to it, - but I don't think that's what any dystopian work of fiction prior to 2016 thought would happen. I mean, you know how the "oppressed sexual minorities" look, right? 🫠

Almost like joining a de-facto cult flattens your few shreds of personality to a fucking cardboard cutout of yourself, huh.

At this point, I'm okay with mass surveillance, but less to protect the children and more to protect us from the manchildren. But alas, the manchildren are instrumental for moving Big Faggotry forward, so... yeah, not happening.

I mean, that can be added to Craig and all the grifting fags he decided to pal up too. So, how is he any better?
You're entitled to that opinion, just keep in mind that we're posting on green Reddit, and that doesn't make either of us in this thread any better :eli:

EDIT: Okay, on a fundamental level, based on just one happening. Troon makes Bloodborne Kart, renames it to Nightmare Kart, Nightmare Kart becomes one of the picks for Best Racing Game on RGA and wins the, - paid, but nevertheless, - popular vote, troon gets utterly livid about winning a nothingburger award because he won it "on merit", not because he's a troon, and asks to rescind said award, Craig goes "nah m8 it wasn't my decision, people loved it, you gonna have to take it", troon goes so ultra instinct livid he wallpapers NK's title screen with the flag of pastel suiciders...

...while Craig goes "USE CODE NIGHTMAREKART FOR 10% DISCOUNT ON SIDE SCROLLERS PLUS!" Still cool as a fucking pickle.

Say what you want about Craig, but please stop acting like dunking on faggots is not something 95% of Kiwi Farms does.

The actual conspiracy in the X Files was that the glowniggers were selling out the planet to alien colonization in exchange that they got to lord over the ashes as the alien hybridized puppet government lol.

That's the core of it and he's said as much. Paraphrasing what he said: Deus Ex is "What if the conspiracy theories are all true?"
Funny how "real conspiracies" was in Deus Ex's tagline, yet we live in an era where "conspiracy theories are just spoilers for next season" is a common meme in YT comments. And, frankly, it's not even a wrong statement.

It was very clever slight-of-hand by the gov't convincing people throughout the 70's and 80's that "conspiracy theory" meant "crackpot idea that can't possibly be true, so you must ridicule whoever is talking about it in any capacity." Literally "stop noticing things" in psyop form.

The X-Men aren’t just fighting for equality on Earth, but in other alien empires too! :semperfidelis:
