I don't know if he's trying to shill the game so much as he's trying to make a point that without playing the game, making sweeping harsh judgements on it's merits as a game is unwise. Am I sick of tranny shit being injected into everything? Yes. Is the dev a fucking sperg when they get any criticism? Yes. Does the civvie video feel disingenuous and annoying at some parts? Yes. Does that mean Selaco is bad? Not necessarily. Maybe Civvie didn't make the game look wildly as entertaining as his enthusiastic tone conveys, and you might not have liked his video, I know I didn't, but that doesn't mean the game now sucks. Though it does dampen my enthusiasm to give the game a go in the first place and I'll probably play other things on the backlog before Selaco.
If you didn't find the gameplay shown in the video entertaining, the game might not be for you, but without having played it, talking about how shallow and boring it is because of a youtuber you watched and didn't like their video is like watching a average game journalist review of their 1 time playthrough of Bayonetta on normal then going "wow, it's just another button masher beat'em up game" - as if someone playing the game on baby mode without understanding or utilizing it's core mechanics is a good representation of how it plays.
The problem with injecting tranny shit and then being a sperg is that it now directs any kind of discussion about the game towards that and it taints any discussion about the game on a critical level since positive feedback feels disingenuous and looks like felatio, which doesn't give a good impression of the game, and people will rightfully begin doubting the quality of the game even if they haven't played it yet because all discussion about it feels so fake unless it's harsh criticism - which then leads to negative dogpiling.
I don't know if Selaco is good, I won't know if I like it until I play it, but I do know that I found Civvies video on it annoying more than entertaining.

I would suggest pirating and playing at the higher difficulties.

I see nothing that I haven't seen before in other idtech1/g(room)zdoom based project/mod/game.a, not mention anything elas made on other engines. selaco for me is the same thing that is project absentia. A pile of trash made up by hypocritical tranny lovin' faggots.

As for Civvie, I noticed that his new Selaco video already has nearly 200K views, only 2 days after being released. For comparison, his Descent video was made 2 weeks ago and is sitting at 300K, where as Aliens vs Predator vid was made over a month ago and is sitting at 350K right now. Is this normal for him, or has he successfully ridden the algorithm to an easy payday here?

Sperging about an easter egg gay joke aside, thats a perfectly valid question. I think I posted about this in another thread but its the weakest of the popular neo retro shooters in my opinion. The devs spent so much time autistically tinkering with the ancient engine to show off their 1337 hax0r skills that they forgot to actually make the game fun. I'd rather play Redneck Rampage again.

I tried Fallen Aces. I played at the hardest difficulty and... The combat just felt shallow. It's kind of hard to describe but play a really good FPS melee combat game like Elderborne (which is also Souls-like) and then play this and it's lacking a lot of depth and the combat becomes tedious very quickly.
