He played some interactive quests I guess? That Bladerunner thing and space Titanic.
Those were both marginally interesting to watch at least by virtue of them being different from his usual videos, although I guess his analytics didn't reflect that.

The analytics didn't stop the Petty Thief videos, though. It might be something to have in between dunkings in the BoomShoot trough.

You could definitely hear him losing the wind in his sails for Stalker in this last video. Usually he can fill the dead air with game trivia or doing a Cancermouse bit, but he seemed content with just getting it finished.

I honestly can't say I blame him, the game is enjoyable for like 80% of the playtime and the end is just a slog. It wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't so quick to drop you out of nowhere and having to deal with hordes of bullet sponges.

Makes you wonder if he's starting to run a little lean on new ideas. He could go back and play some of those ancient games that had demos on old Windows95 product sampler disks, but he'd have to wade through a lot of shit to find something good. Even then, he wouldn't have the background knowledge that he has with games he grew up with. Watching his old Doom and Quake videos is what convinced me to buy a copy of the Masters of Doom book after hearing about the wild shenanigans that took place around the Id office in their early years.

Civvie borders on the edge of sucking Carmack's dick too much, but he's undeniably a tech wizard. I've watched several lectures that Carmack has given at IT colleges over the years as well as his TED Talks, and the man can speak intelligently for hours without missing a beat. First and second generation programmers are an eccentric breed that we'll never get back. As another Kiwi has said on here before, I miss when IT nerds would dress up and pretend to be rogues and wizards instead of wearing dresses and pretending to be women.

TIMESPLITTERS

Also, Painkiller is a series he said he wont cover because he wont have much to say about it

Half Life 2
Half-Life 2 turned 19 years old a few days ago, holy shit. He could be waiting to release his video close a 20th anniversary.
Gunman Chronicles
Boiling Point
Heck yeah. Boiling Point got a GOG release recently.
Devastation
Mortyr 1-2
YES

I'll add Clive Barker's Jericho, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Far Cry 1 & 2.
Too bad he didn't do that Capstone Zorro game too. Or Quake addons.

Ironstorm is a blast from the past, need to actually finish that game one of these days.
Great shooter, and one of the few WW1 themed ones despite having shit like assault rifles and helicopters in it(it's an alt future game where WW1 never ended so you have modern warfare mixed in with trench warfare and gassings everywhere)
I should point out that a few Youtubers already had good videos covering them, Boiling Point(and the rest of Xenus games) by Tehsnakerer and Marathon trilogy by Mandalore for example. Civvie might be waiting to release these later so that he doesn't seem like a copying hack or simply when the algorithm will favor them more

I'm hoping to see a review for Ion Fury: Aftershock at some point. Seems likely since he's done the base game and everything else on the Build engine.

I hope he also gets a copy of Vietcong. Now that there is a vintage obscure early 00 shooter that's surprisingly good.

Those games really deserve love after being stuck in copyright hell. But it's far more likely Civvie will just stick to doing indie "reviews" which are just full game playthrough without any sort of criticism whatsoever and praising them for copying from each other/doing memes.
I dunno, he does some indie stuff. But he seems to have a bigger bite in doing some shooters people want him to see (though, his review on The Suffering still sounded bitter as hell)

That game has top-tier atmosphere. I didn't play it enough to judge the gameplay, but it's one of those titles I really want to get back into, especially since it has a sequel.

He's not averse to pirating the game if chips are down.

I actually want him to do Halo CE just to see him go indepth of why he hates it and thinks it brought down the genere for years.
Halo being the downfall of the FPS is a meme at this point
If you wanted a game to signify the fall of the FPS as a genre COD4 and Killzone would be better games

Halo 1 and 2 are good FPS games just not Boomer Shooters
