I'm just reminded of some Ctrl+Alt+Del-looking picture showing the "evolution" of indie game reviewers from the 00's to the 10's to the 20's, the gag being that "That thing you like is [awesome/awful/racist]!"Eh, I like the stuff and the humor hit or miss (lot of miss) but I guess I really like learning about the games I missed and era I was into games. He has a lot of cringe or mock humor, vs people who act above things, I don't know if I'm even wording right but he will belike oh god no or act like he's suffering (and probably is) but not pretending he's so great and the devs of a game from fucking 1993 are knuckle draggers. I feel like if you applied this to say, mil tech, you'd be like WOW YOU FUCKING RETARD CEASER JUST USE AKS.
Radiaki is awful, no one likes it, but it was a new Doom-clone that could run on a 386SX iirc and that was the selling point to some: it was new, it could be played and in print screenshots it looked alright even if the game was trash.I'm just reminded of some Ctrl+Alt+Del-looking picture showing the "evolution" of indie game reviewers from the 00's to the 10's to the 20's, the gag being that "That thing you like is [awesome/awful/racist]!"
Civvie's mostly stuck in the second category, but slides back to the first when he plays something he actually enjoys.
I remember Time to Kill and Planet of the Babes being okay when I played them, but today they seem like Tomb Raider rip-offs to me. Zero Hour was generally good for it's time and would probably still be worth playing today, though.Best thing about Time to Kill is the commercial:

I remember as a kid watching this and going "YEAH! \m/ \m/" wishing I had a Playstation. I had no idea an N64 game came out until years later. The publisher must have spent all the marketing money on this commercial.
And yes, I still listen to the song.

Highly doubt he's into arcade aircraft sims like Ace Combat, otherwise him looking into Jap version of Ace Combat 3 would have been awesome.I'd like to see him cover commercial expansion packs that were made exclusively for foreign countries, like he did with Corkscrew Rules for Postal 2 or the Japanese-only levels for Postal 1. I can't think of other examples right now but I think it's a fascinating topic.
Just a reminder that Nightdive's remaster of Powerslave comes out tomorrow.I guarantee it. There's Powerslave EX that's out there and I know how you have to download some homebrew fixes to get it to work. That and Night Dive appears to be doing an official remaster soon. It will be a golden opportunity for him to go over the console version (that plays more like a gory Metroid Prime, so automatically a way better Metroid Prime) and the (sorry to say) mediocre Build Engine version. But perhaps Night Dive can massively improve upon the Build version?
Ace Combat 3 had the most autistic international release I've seen from a game (the german version of videogame releases don't count). Who thought it would be a good idea to cut down most story missions and cutscenes? I remember playing it as a kid chugging along in the game then suddenly I was doing dogfights inside the Internet.Highly doubt he's into arcade aircraft sims like Ace Combat, otherwise him looking into Jap version of Ace Combat 3 would have been awesome.
I know which one you are talking about, it was posted alot in LOL threads on /v/ and the games are awful panel was YahtzeeI'm just reminded of some Ctrl+Alt+Del-looking picture showing the "evolution" of indie game reviewers from the 00's to the 10's to the 20's, the gag being that "That thing you like is [awesome/awful/racist]!"

perhaps. there's a catch though, original Doom and Doom 64 aredifferent games, so it was a logical conclusion to review both in separate videos.Cant wait Civvie 11 spin on that game. I saw Gggmanlives when he review it, and funny thing is, there are 2 versions of PowerSlave, for PC in Build engine, and console one, with SlaveDriver engine. He might end up reviewing both, like he did with regular and Doom 64.
Yeah, the Build version is an entirely different game. The level design is entirely different and it doesn't have the Metroid shit. I honestly did not like the Build version. It just came off as "generic 90's FPS."Cant wait Civvie 11 spin on that game. For that, we have the Mummy on PSOne.Generic 90's FPS... with Mummies
God bless both Nightdive for remastering it, and you for letting me know it exists. This is an immediate buy. Awesome gameJust a reminder that Nightdive's remaster of Powerslave comes out tomorrow.
Always has been unnoficially, now it's time to make him a legit one.
But jus one oocasion isn't enough.
Jesus christ all this pearl clutching over a 2 second "This didn't age well" joke.minus the retarded signaling over the tranny poster
