Timeline: for years now the Democrat party has been enacting destructive policies, such as forcing Republican states to absorb massive illegal immigrant populations. Their stated reasons for doing so do not match the observed results. Texts has forcefully chosen to control it's borders, a move that was deemed unacceptable by the SCOTUS in a 5-4 decision. Texas has chosen to ignore that decision, and in doing so indicated they will no linger be acknowledging the federal governemnt.

This will most likely lead to a firefight between the Texas guard and Federal agents, which will be the public trigger for a civil war. providing Texas holds its ground for the first few days, the civil war will spread like fire to the other states in the country, where most people are dissatisfied with the direction the government is going. Glory-seekers may choose to drive to Texas to join the fight against the federal government, which may be forced to use it's heavily emasculated army that would be in a poor morale situation - with it's best members defecting to assist Texas. The Confederate flag with make a big comeback despite little relevence.

Anyone who thinks that this will be States vs. States with pretty and well drawn borders like the 1st needs to apply for Canadian Healthcare immediately.

If anything happens, it will be more like a continent sized Northern Ireland at the height of the Troubles.
 
I make a motion to bring the Bonnie Blue flag back as a symbol of states rights, etc.

You're assuming the civil war happens in a vaccum. All major cities will have riots with attempted loyalty purges. I would expect Demoshatic niggers and woketarfs would start trying to lynch anyone with right-wing values which would mean all bets are off.

Another wrench is that Texas is shot full of Title 10 US military bases, including Fort Hood/Cavazos and Fort Bliss.

I don't know all the relevant statutory frameworks but the early moves would probably look something like this:
- President orders the Guard Bureau to halt funding to the Texas National Guard, probably to include the Army National Guard and Air Guard.
- Undeterred, the Texas Guard continues to operate under the Governor's Title 32 authority drawing from Texas funding sources while Texas files a lawsuit against the federal government to restore federal funding
- Texas Guard gets aggressed by coyotes or cartel members. Texas Guard kills the aggressors.
- Faggots in MSM + ACLU and other groups allege that Texas Guard is using military hardware to kill civilians
- Guard Bureau orders Texas Guard to surrender arms and equipment
- Texas Guard refuses
- Using some kind of insurrection authority, President directs Title 10 Army units to seize Texas Guard's arms and equipment
- Texas Governor announces state of emergency and directs civilians and Guard to resist illegal disarmament of the Constitutionally-protected militia

This is a good plot. You should write a story on it before the real thing happens.
