The bus story always kills me.

We know Chris lies and he exaggerates things to his own benefit.

So what’s the real story here? Some kid punched Chris and Chris is the one to get put on a special bus? That’s not how that works. So Chris must have done something more than just sit there and be punched.

Also... Barb probably said “I don’t care if you ever have kids” as a loving gesture as she knows Chris is very unlikely to have kids.

I still don't buy that story that some kid just punched Chris in the face to get off the bus first, compounded by the fact that Chris seems to be the one to face repercussions. I think it's way more likely that Chris chimped out and got put in his place. In fact, I think there's little hints in Chris's childhood that he was occasionally uncontrollable and violent, re: him getting kicked out of schools and the cub scouts to the point where the school board floated the idea of institutionalization.
