Eh, as I recall it, the writer told Sagal her medical issues would be off the record, then he spilled them. I would have fired him, too; he had absolutely no business ever telling her that would be off the record. Most games journalists are unprofessional as hell.
 
Publicly outing a transgender person is a dick move, but Sagal could have avoided it by being honest about her surgery needs.

Let me get this straight: She's terminally ill and she wants to kill herself? That kind of over the top attention whoring isn't going to win her sympathy from anyone.

i think of it a lot like the Milo article that outed Wu. there was a good reason for it but the way they did it was pretty fucked up. one commentor on the article i linked pointed out that if he had just contacted Chloe before and gotten her involved in releasing the information it could have ended up as a positive thing for all involved or at least not a complete cluserfuck.

Chloe still shouldn't have lied about why she needed the money. She could have easily said that she needed surgery and left out the specifics, which would have made her request mostly honest. I understand that transition is extremely important to some trans people and that outing a transperson can cost them their job and compromise their relationships with family and friends. Still, she could have said something like this:

I have a condition that requires surgery to fix. It's not life threatening, but it negatively impacts my quality of life and my ability to work to my fullest potential. If you donate I will send you a free copy of X game I made. I will also be able to make new games faster!

She didn't have to pretend she was fucking dying.

Once someone starts using their transgendered status to scam people, it's a dick move to NOT out them, in my opinion.
 
Segal miscalculated, if he just announced that he wanted a sex change, the sjw's would have given him hundreds of thousands if not millions, and thats without even knowing anything about his game designing.

he could have afforded his sex change and kept the rest of the money like all of these other fundraisers that have a $10,000 goal and end up getting $800,000

sjw's don't really care that much if someone is terminally ill or suicidal, but if someone wants to challenge the patriarchy or rebel against assigned gender roles then thats a whole different story

This would be my guess too. The rationalization behind it is that being the wrong gender is so awful that it drives people to suicide, and thus correcting the problem is life-saving medical treatment. Nevertheless, it's still wrong. Suicide is a purely voluntary process. Gender dysphoria doesn't have to be fatal unless the sufferer decides that it will be. When someone tries to obtain money for their transition under the guise of providing lifesaving treatment, they are literally holding themselves hostage in order to extort funds. And since we have a hostage situation involving crazed trannies, there's only one person to call: :jaceknife:

I love when they declare themselves countries and that anything they don't like will be "considered an act of war." Like the government is gonna just freak out and lose its shit and make whatever ridiculous concessions a lunatic demands to avoid the consequences of all out open war.
