Who would win a fight to the death?

The Indian is too frail and weak to even be a worthy opponent. He may have an empire of shit upon his designated shitting streets, but outside of his natural habitat he is defenceless against the gargantuas beast of an Asian you have depicted. His skinny arms would simply sink into the folds of this man, who could sit on him and snap every bone in his body. His only hope is that when he is eventually rolled onto, one of the bones in his body, perhaps a rib, pokes out after being sat on, stabbing the obese man and rubbing the fecal matter that was covering his body into the asians wound and putting him into septic shock.

This is no David and Goliath type battle you have proposed, this is a murder.

China has an overwhelming manpower base, and is ridiculously strong once you get the right techs, doctrines, and start developing your industry; easily on par with Germany, the Soviets, and the USA. It's an uphill battle because Japan has better everything early on, and you're going to be stuck as a minor power for several years or more, but the vast swathes of manpower-dense Core provinces available to you mean that once China gets going, it REALLY gets going. The drawback is a lack of heavy industry, relatively low Resources for its size, and an unfair early game fight against one of the strongest Majors. Also, you have no navy, and that's unlikely to change.

At first glance, India's got a great manpower base, too. However, the debuffs you're saddled with are huge, particularly Agrarian Society. Penalties from Muslims can be negated through tech, penalties from being a Dominion can be negated through freedom, but penalties from Agrarian Society can never be overcome. At best, you're looking at a late game army the size of the Netherlands or maybe France, which against China, is not going to cut it. On top of that, India has the same issues with resources and lack of factories that China does. On the other hand, the fact that you start on good terms with the UK means your naval needs are fully taken care of. You're in a better position to access the Rubber of Dutch Indochina, you start with almost all of your Cores, and you're in no immediate danger of being overrun by the Japanese.

China dominates the long game, but if India can capitalize on the more comfortable starting position and either exert enough pressure in the midgame to take China solo, or guarantee enough allies to coallition China down by the late, then I think India will win.

Really, it all comes down to which person knows their nation best, and is able to plan far enough ahead.

-edit- oh! Also, I should add: alignment choices.

China has a tough time picking its allies. Communism is garbage, the Allies are too far off to do much good, and Fash, while immensely strong when paired with China's natural military aptitude, makes you very much dependent on Japanese focus picks. If the Japan makes the mistake of going Democratic, or worse, Communist, then Fash China is an obvious and winning move. If, however, Japan plays historical and goes with Germany, then you're faced with a problem: if you buddy the Axis, you no longer have to worry about Japan and you get access to Japanese naval assets, BUT, Japan has a tendency to take large swathes of your Cores away, which is no good at all. Fighting Japan, Fash on Fash, either requires you drive a wedge between Japan and Germany, or you go it alone. If anyone can go it alone, Fash China is it - however, you've got to remember that Germany will eventually overwhelm the Soviets, and if you haven't beaten Japan and got yourself well on the way to dominance, then a Germano-Russian invasion on your Western front is going to beat you.

India, on the other hand, is perfectly flexible. They can stick with Allies and get all the benefits of naval dominance, free tech, and endless resources. They can go Commie, and are both able to repel immediate counterattacks, and seize any neighbouring territory they want without fear of Comintern allies getting in the way (resources and navy are goign to be trash, though, so once again - Commie is garbage). Or they can go Fash, and in addition to the benefits of Commie India, and the natural benefits of Fash, they get to mooch of the naval might of Japan and resource might of Germany. This is especially important for a matchup against China, since India vs China is a losing situation, but India AND Japan vs China is a winning one. Secure Indochina while Japan is kicking Chinese tail, then sweep up from the south and march to victory together!

Indian man. They can live in all the toxic waste dumps the China man produces and then pounce out from them like a fucking pooma.
