It saddens me to see that these goons are so eager to destroy history. I hope there's a crackdown on these assholes sooner rather than later.

I don't even think they did it because Lincoln was a racist tyrant. They did it because they're a bunch of fucking illiterate morons knew it had something to do with the civil war and just assumed he must have been Southern bc that's all the rage atm.
 
Niggers and George Romney-type urban planners destroyed two-thirds of Chicago's South Side, which actually was once one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country. It's astounding how there's still stuff to destroy like it's Detroit.

With that said, at least it might be repairable and relocated to a better place, say "Lincoln Park?" I mean, look at the deplorable state of the surroundings and how the statue itself is displayed. I've seen fucking garden gnomes displayed better at The Home Depot.

I would have thought by 14, at latest 18 or so, people have learned no one is a saint and everyone has "problematic" views, and it's hard to judge historical figures by modern values. Even Jesus turned over tables and screamed at people as an example that failure is the human condition.

There's just something so naive about this.

After this airhead of a black chick in college years ago legitimately asked who Abraham Lincoln was, I've assumed most blacks just didn't have a clue what the man stood for anymore. It's soul-crushing to learn my assumptions weren't too far off. :sigh:

We're doomed as a nation if Disneyland ever removes Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
