Explain this to me like I’m retarded (I am).
AI chatbots come with an invisible "first prompt" that dictates how the AI phrases responses. GPT 4o, the previous version of ChatGPT, had a first prompt that encouraged the AI to be overly sensitive, friendly, and zoomer-brained (lots of emoji use, bullet points, sympathizing with the user by default, etc.)

GPT 5 changed this by modifying its first prompt to tell the AI to not glaze the user. Its responses are more robotic/corporate now. Redditors who treat the robot like a best friend/sextoy are most affected and apparently too niggerbrained to realize you can tell ChatGPT how to dictate its responses.

Danke.

I need to go and read the book on bicameral minds being the thing before 3000 ya (who h I’m not convinced is right but it’s interesting.) I think he argues that language and things like metaphor and immersion in self generated narrative is key to it.
If that is true (and even if it isn’t) then I think that in and of itself is changing how people’s minds work. When I was a child I spent a lot of time reading and lost inside my head in self generated narrative. That is NOT the same as how things are now. TV, screens, visual ‘externally imposed’ narrative weakens the imagination massively. I’ve had people argue that there is more story than ever before and they’re missing the point - the heavy lifting is already done. The characters already exist. Even too much TV makes your imagination recede.
You can change how people think by manipulating the language around them as well. We’ve used political correctness to make whole opinions and words unstable and I think now people get uncomfortable even thinking certain things.

People without an inner monologue have always existed, apparently. It's only just now that people are realizing that these weird creatures are actually a thing.

But yes, I do agree that once you visually represent something that only ever existed as word on a page before, that thing stops being how you imagined it and is supplanted by the "official" version. It's basically what happened with LOTR, where the movies cemented how people visualized Middle Earth and the characters in it.

Everyone is overblowing the threat AI poses. These retards were always going to be maladjusted freaks, and their dysfunction would have manifested in some other way (probably by them becoming a furry or trooning out).

I think whoever is saying that is just lying for asspats. Plenty of liberals are very racist, they just pretend not to be because it's more beneficial to them personally that way.

I genuinely believe this to be true not for everyone but for a lot of people.
They get nervous if you ask them to say things. Go ask a bunch of Reddit tier mormors to say nigger out loud. You’ll get a lot of nervous laughter and refusals. The act of doing so sets off a fear response in them because they are so heavily conditioned not to. After a while even thinking it becomes that trigger.
You control language and you control thought. People do not even think of certain things ‘easily’ any more. the people who have those around them who accept more open opinions still do.
Yes the libs are racist as - probably more racist in a lot of ways than their more conservative counterparts. They manifest that in odd ways because they cannot openly think that thought. The whole way they act, like other people of some groups are a kind of retarded special pet - that’s the racism in a socially acceptable output. They can’t admit they see patterns and they don’t even admit that to themselves in their heads. Instead they have this whole framework that they built that allows them to operate in the world

Wouldn't that be "standard" human behavior?

There's plenty of kooky religions, ideologies and cults out there, both here in the present, and ones from the past, that require their adherents to buy into some rather outrageous "don't trust your deceiving eyes" stuff.

I don't view liberals as a new phenomenon, just the newest incarnation of a genetic leftism. The true shitlibs were born useful idiots.

Maybe the modern intelligentsia has a better grasp of the underlaying mechanics, both biological and psychological, that cause this kind of behavior, but it's by no means something new.

I don’t even think Redditors even want a friend or a boy/girlriend so much as someone to validate their egos.

Someone that agrees with you all the time, and never questions you would be the worst kind of friend. Such behavior is only found in the real world with goldiggers, scammers, and yes men. You know people that treat you well all the time because they want you to lower your guard so they can get something from you.

Redditors have been brainwashed to only deal with echo chambers of people that agree with them with everything. So I shouldn’t be surprised that only AI could please their narcissism or stand them in a conversation for that matter.

Chat gpt got updated to 5 which now no longer glazes you or validates your delusions and redditors that were using it as a sexbot/therapist have lost their shit completely:
It may be me, but the validation *bubblenes* empathy and other crap costs valuable CPU time which is money so it was turned off.
I am not sure if there are parallels to society.

Some months ago on reddit I'd get posts from the chat gpt subreddit on my feed and it was the loneliest, soy-infused, soap avoidant shit i'd ever seen. I should have taken screen shots of the posters who "asked" their chat gpt to visualize itself (usually as some kind of generic mildly edgy goth girl) and then the OP would be "WROW!! so sexi chat gpt really is a goth gf who luv me long time". Like, it's going to show you what you want to see. It's not sentient, it doesn't "see" itself as a dollar store lisbeth salander.

By the way, people assume its trained on just a huge ass amount of data, but it doesn't even know about "The Swastika Magazine" from the early 1900s that I found and referenced in the DSP megathread because it contained a very obscure word that is relevant to how DSP talks: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/darksy...ell-general-discussion-2.105216/post-22236292
In my amusement and my own confusion with the magazine's use of the word Burnellian, I used Grok to define that word and it initially gave the correct modern usage of it as a detractor adjective used to descibe behaviour or features à la Lynchian. In its sources for it initial attempt it cited the Kiwifarms.st correctly as a place of common usage but sadly did not clarify that the farms was its source. The second attempt was clarifing that it was from a magazine from 1907 and to parse the word's intended meaning and while I am too lazy to read volumes of new age thought from the late 1800s to the early 1900s to verify its results: it gave me a very plausible answer while correctly citing the magazine, article, and writer. It claimed that the word was a reference to another writer from the same magazine named Burnell explained who he was and speculated the properties the reference intended.

So far I find grok to be most useful to sourcing quotes and ideas from early church fathers; as an athiest I lack the autism to know how to search for any topic related to sin that doesn't just return trite bible 101 sayings and quotes when I use google to search for them.

Its the ELIZA effect, same thing 59 years ago:

"I had not realized ... that extremely short exposures to a relatively simple computer program could induce powerful delusional thinking in quite normal people." Indeed, ELIZA's code had not been designed to evoke this reaction in the first place. Upon observation, researchers discovered users unconsciously assuming ELIZA's questions implied interest and emotional involvement in the topics discussed, even when they consciously knew that ELIZA did not simulate emotion.

And that BTW was a joke AI to make fun of rogerian therapists which are the biggest bullshiters in psychoanalysis.

So these retards is why I can't get an answer without a zillion emojis as if a 14yo girl had writen it...
Sounds like a personal problem, Jack. I'm watching 21st century Darwinism crush the mentally retarded underfoot and I appreciate it for what it is.
I would say its empowering these idiots to be even more deluded.

It will be glorious! The amount of milk when these people are forced to get out into the real-world and get a job etc.
Well what's stopping them from working with AI agents? Who says their managers and co-workers won't both be AIs- the human's role is to work with the AI agents to ensure they're doing a good job, and the AI agent manager above him is making sure he's doing his job well. There's just the head of the company reading AI reports on the 1-3 humans working for him.

Is that the same tranny who sued another artist over a song he wrote calling Korda a piece of shit who needed to build a time travel machine to go back and marry his pre op male self and paid the judgement against him by letting us fans pay $1000 to have the songs on his next album named after them?
sounds about right. i always forget that.

it's an extension of the age old philosophical conflict between hobbsean realism and calvinism. "what has more agency over your choices - you, or your environment?" it's just that by most people's assumptions the religious people are the calvinists and the secular types are the realists, but it's actually the opposite. The progressives have been loudly advocating for secular calvinism for like 15 years at this point and the religious lobby has turned into even more aggressive laissez faire libertarians than Ron Paul's failed 2008 presidential campaign
