I am incredibly curious what a non-ChainsawMan world would look like. Things could easily end up being way WAY worse.

A hard reset on the world does make sense though. Things were extremely fucked at this point. Like life on earth would have lasted maybe another year best case scenario. And Pochita has always been a very self-sacrificing type.

I’m going to assume that Denji ends up having some vague recollection or memory of Chainsaw Man since he fully became it himself. And it’s already been shown “concepts” for devils can be reinvented/rediscovered.

Or maybe Part 3 will just be a slice-of-life harem manga of Denji going to high school with all the characters(but not as mentally fucked up) as some sort of massive troll.

I know csm part 2 was ending, but I didn't fully accept it. Shit this next chapter is going to hit me hard since I've been reading weekly every week for part 2.
The only thing I truly hope for is like a 50 page final chapter, but I'm gonna be frank it's probably 23 pages that leads up to denji being dead or smth
I will await whatever fujimoto makes next I'll be there.

Everything he ate will once again exist so there's that. That being said he could significantly reverse the situation by vomiting up death so things can die again.

I don't want to believe that the closing message is "you're only going to be happy as a yakuza plaything living in a toolshed eating bread with jam every once in a while as a treat" because frankly the logic makes absolutely no sense. This dude got a raw deal from start to finish, at his best he was a high schooler living in a dingy apartment with a found family, and even that got taken from him due to things completely beyond his control.

I’m aaauming erasing Chainsaw Man from existence is going to have major ramifications on the world at large, including Denji’s initial lot in life. Pochita assumed that Denji would be in a better place if he never existed, because Denji wouldn’t grow up with the mindset he’s currently in now, in which he can’t be happy with a normal mundane life.

If you spend enough time at rock bottom that you get comfortable and learn to be happy there it becomes difficult to go back to having a "normal" life. It's similar to the guys that spend so much time in prison that they can't function in society anymore. He owned nothing and was happy, and then he suddenly had a lot of things to lose, things he had to maintain, and things he wanted to obtain, like sex. Things were simpler in the shack.

So if Pochita eats himself, Denji is human again and currently being eaten alive, but cannot die.

Yoru can save Denji by turning him into a weapon. Here is how I envision the final pane:

I'm hoping Pochita's assumption is shown to be wrong. From the looks of it he's right back to exactly where he was in Chapter 1.

I understand the theme, I just think it's absolute bullshit. He was clearly growing up and learning to make smarter, more responsible decisions that improved his lot in life. Learning to deal with loss is just part of becoming an adult. This is like the Plato's cave allegory except it takes the side of the people who refuse to believe life outside the cave exists.

I can't see how they could get worse than literally no one can die while they are eaten forever by small animals and bugs. Question is how much the knockback effect is in place unless the chainsaw devil was what created the ability of demons to pass into our world.

Hopefully Denji get to keep his memory, wonder if time got rewound or it's where he would have been had he kept working for the Yakuza but without the ability to kill demons.
Anyone could tell part 2 was going to be dogshit ever since the aquarium arc, but i guess fujimoto trannies needed to cope for 4 years to come to the same conclusion
It seemed to ramp up finally but now it's almost certain to end in a shitty way, the fallout will be glorious though.

In theory this would bring Makima back life and we've seen that she remembers things that have been erased by Pochita.

Makima would probably remember Chainsawman & Denji, maybe even remember things that happened when she was reborn as Nayuta? So Makima might save Denji from the Zombie Devil if that still happens.

I've been reading Part 2 since it began and I'm just glad that it is ending.
The Aquarium arc was the high point and it's been downhill since.

Now that part 2 is ending I can definitely say it's been a wild trip compared to part 1. I really liked part 1 because there was more of a cohesive story to follow and had an interesting cast of characters. The series could have ended there and I would have been perfectly fine with it, but I was excited to see that it was only a "part 1".

Part 2 started off pretty strong, but quickly fell into being more absurdist as time went on. Like each chapter started to feel like a whiplash that if it wasn't Fujimoto writing it I would have dropped the series. Still was entertaining but the overall plot started to feel lost. Towards the end it felt like a new plot element or plot twist was being introduced that the only way to process it was to shut my brain off and laugh along.

I definitely need to go back and read through the whole thing again instead of at 2 week intervals, but it will definitely be interesting to see how they adapt this arc for the anime if they ever get to it

Remember that according to Makima (who, admittedly, isn't the most trustworthy source of information), Pochita deleted WW2, AIDS, and four non-death ends of life. So this could be real wacky.

On the other hand, this may revive her and finally let us see all the Horsemen in the same room, arguing.

Edit: I would put money that the very last panel of this part is of Real-Fami.

The more I think about this as a series ending the more I like it.
Maybe it's my overdose of copium making me retarded, but I think this can end well.

The whole of part 2 seems to be about Denji squandering every single opportunity he has at a good life, making all the wrong choices every single time. And because of it, he gets the "bad ending". He fucked up.
Now the only issue I have is the lack of conclusion for Asa, maybe next chapter will bring that. At the end of the day she was just as much of a main character as Denji, but she has been a background character for too long now.
