Fami’s feeling like she’s filling the Kobeni role so I wouldn’t put it past her to do something nuts at some point

Talking about the film, it's kind of a shame the whole thing is spoilered in the trailer, or just by the name alone. It was pretty nice in the manga to have subverted expectations of instead of having an awful thing happening to Denji, a worse thing happens to him (which really summarizes the entire series).

The movie is pulling huge numbers in Japan, topping the box office. I'm looking forward to what else the future holds for the series, there is still a clear public interest in it even if its still for part 1.

Spoilering this bit just in case, regarding the last few chapters:
I forgot to mention this earlier when it would've been more relevant but I wonder if Denji/Chainsaw Man could puke Barem back up like he did with Yoshida.
Barem's death(?) felt a bit too sudden and quick, even by how frantic CSM gets.

This is the second time he's killed him in a fit of rage so I wouldn't call it sudden. Then again maybe they're setting it up for a hat trick where the third time it happens he stays dead.

I’m actually pretty hype for the movie, I feel that the Reze arc is when Chainsaw Man really came into its own. It’s pretty much where all the important dominoes get set up for the rest of the story and in particular Makima becomes a lot more terrifying as she tightens her grip over our characters by removing threats to her control.
And given some of the crazy imagery in the Reze arc I am hype to see how they bring it to film. I love what the anime has done so far and believe they can continue to put out bangers.
But I swear to Allah, if in the future they fuck up the Darkness Devil and the Gun Devil scenes I will personally eat MAPPA employees like a dead goldfish.

So....Gavin Newsom made a contract with the War Devil to spare California in exchange for using the lives of his citizens as human meat shields. Yeah, that's something I could see Gavin Newsom doing.

I like how California is so shitty that even turbo autists who've never left Japan are aware of how shitty it is.

watched a bootleg I'll say of the new manga arc turned to movie trend it's probably the best one. They really framed the arc as a movie event and it worked as a self contained story.

It sucks because outside this exception a lot of them don't need theatrical adaptations at all and don't look any different from TV production. It only worked with Reze because the arc is so short and focused that it could only work as a movie but given that this is Mappa and how they had to completely change the staff I doubt that it was their intention to make it into a movie if the first season didn't underperformed.

Its a happy accident that the reze arc is kinda written like a movie. justifies the 1:30 runtime where infinity castle is over 2 and a half HOURS and does not feel worthy of the time it takes to do what it does

I looked at that runtime for Reze before watching and thanked God no anime movie can justify being over 2 hours. I liked Infinity Castle but it did not need to be that long and felt like a marathon of half of season than a theatrical production.

I thought it was gonna be the whole fucking arc with a runtime like that and getting 35-40% of the GOOD ARC leaving it on a weird cliffhanger is incredibly retarded who the fuck thought that'd be a good move.

I could see lots of Fujimoto works translating well into movies. The guy is a massive movie buff and his mangas tend to be paced like movies.
