I wonder if there is any hidden reason for these troons to be mad about an attractive video game character still being called male...

Oh there it is.

They probably have worse nightmares than Erica.

Why are they mad ? I recall a scene where a guy discovers he had sex with a tranny and the whole thing is played for laughs, despite the fact that it would qualify as rape. That's remarkably kind from a Japanese company, what more do they want ?

This one in particular irks me, mostly because of the Persona misrepresentation. Never played Catherine, so I can't really say much for it.

Here, you have this series of games full of themes, lessons like finding your true self, accepting mortality, and seeking freedom from the powers that be, and you have these spergs going off about how utterly terrible it is that there aren't gay main characters... because that's supposed to be the entirety of someone's character trait, I guess. If I had a nickel for the amount of times people wanted Yusuke to be gay...

Just to emphasize, since I'm sure these autists are directly referring to Kanji in P4 and thus are missing the point of his entire arc...
He was confused about his sexuality. The whole point of his story was to show that he was confused about who he was; which is actually the point of P4. He was a tough guy with a love for cutesy things who had a "palace" that represented his repressed personality. He faced it and accepted it as a part of him. He then spends the rest of the game not giving much of a shit about romance unless it's with Naoto or Yosuke (as a joke).

I assume these people are taking it at face-value, thinking "Kanji's true self was a gay version of himself, and he doesn't want that? HOMOPHOBIA!"
Also P5 never paints homosexuality as a whole in a negative light. It just has two weird faggots who appear twice in the entire game as comic relief. It's not supposed to be representative of gays as a whole, as these people seem to think.

wew sorry for the :autism:

P5 literally had a drag-queen/transwoman who was one of the best characters in the game, did I accidentally buy P5: SJW edition while these guys bought the Kikedeath one?

Because if so I'd like to request a trade.

It's like the hacks haven't even played the games they love jesus.
Pretty sure you're on the money, actually. Never played Catherine myself, really should one of these days. Heard good things about it when it was more new and popular. Crying over deadnaming a trans character is retarded though.

their entitlemente is amazing, since when japanese dev give a shit about what a couple of idiots think, every game they end bashing is because is popular and give them asspats, but the people that actually have money and dont give a shit about those stupid things are going to buy the game

Atlus should give a thanks to all of them because now there are going to be people buying the game out of spite, every single game that they screech end selling, Hatred? was top seller in steam for weeks, Cuphead? they called it racist, now? they are celebrating selling 2 millions copies, Xenoblade? selling, come on keep doing it, Japan doesnt give a shit

(Still no PC version REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE)

Disclaimer: never played Catherine because im a filthy PC player and i dont want to sell my kidney for a Playstation in my country

Nintendo predicted this shit thirty years ago with Birdo/Ostro, a troon dinosaur with a diaper fetish from the Western version of Super Mario Brothers 2. Coincidentally, he was called "Catherine" in the source Japanese game, Doki Doki Panic.

Miss Laura Kate Dale did a long blog post on Birdo and other trans game characters on their video game blog, predating their current reign as queen troon of Kotaku UK.

It was the usual complaining and "we need more trans characters who aren't a joke" sperging.

These "I need muh representation" people piss me off too.

Someone who says they can't empathize in-story with other people is no different than a person who won't.

Erica's still one of the better written trans in video games in my opinion. Hell,I feel she's a more believable trans than most actual trans people claim on the web, despite all the people crying about "deadnaming" and shit. I'm excited for the port, since I never played Catherine long ago due to not owning a PS3 at the time and only resort to watching playthroughs.

The whiny LGBT people just need to stay far far away from every Atlus games or hell, video games in general. They'll keep on crying about "MUH PRESENTATION!1" until the end of their life and it's pissing me off. It's why I have a very hard time taking video games community so seriously when they always constantly cry about every single minor thing. If they cared so much about adding one LGBT representation in a game and nothing else, it's best that they're off doing better things than play games.

What is it about games that seem to bring out these insane tantrums in people? I've been playing games for over 25 years and never once have I ever thrown a fit over something devs have put in a game. If there is some mechanic or story I know will be in the game and I don't like. I don't buy it. That solution is too easy I suppose, they couldn't REEEEEE for attention online.

Because every piece of media has to change the world and bring about world peace. Otherwise it must be destroyed.

I feel that saying this shouldn't be on the Vita is a valid complaint/criticism. I only knew like two people in my life who owned a Vita, and one of them was a person who sold their soul to Sony. People know about the joke "Vita Means Life" which was essentially making fun of one of the things said at a press conference and how hard it got knocked into the ground. Catherine isn't gonna be like Pokemon X and Y where the latter fueled the sales fire for the 3DS.

Sometimes Japanese fans hate it too. Apparently, the Japanese players have an extreme hatred of the remakes of Fire Emblem's "Mystery Saga", the ones with Marth in them. So much to the point that a side game shortened to BS Fire Emblem was considered better than the remake of Shadow Dragon. Marth's character was demolished in it, complete shift from the original version on NES, and the same could be said about New Mystery of the Emblem.
