WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING WITH JOAN'S POWER THE CONTROLS GET 500% SHITTIER AFTER GETTING IT
why? he's just corrupted, was anyone crushed when Richter was in his Evil Long Hair phase in SoTN?

people should be happy you get more of a character who got one games worth of screentime.
Because in Leon's case, his possession happened because he apparently had a retard moment? It's not like Richter or Soleil's possessions.

I ll be honest, the metaphysics for corrupting someone in this setting are fucking dubious at best, some ground rules could help.

Richter was a super powered man of God with 400 years of eugenics and magical blood and some guy named Shaft just OOOMPLAH and its done.

Come on, there's a difference between a mage having to focus and concentrate on a domination spell that can be dispelled by simply hitting him really hard, and total damnation and control of your soul by Satan's roommate. Shit ain't the same.

that bitch is Red
This type of ambiguous, slightly unatural skin tone was pulled off in Hades 1. Hades’ cast should have been all White, but they made all the characters have these muddy and/or slightly unnatural colors as skin tones. They almost all look like mutt zombies. It’s a new, innovative and subversive way to race swap. In Hades 2 they dropped the mask, I wont go in details, but a chunk of the racially ambiguous characters in the first game are now undoubtedly race swapped. In the supposedly GREEK cast, only Demeter, Aphrodite, and Persephone pass/are White.

It’s the same shit here. Subversive race swapping. And dont get it twisted, the blerds will gatekeep you from cosplaying this rendition of Carmilla because she’s “black coded”.

And I admit I have a ulterior motive - I liked that as a Catholic, there existed a series that respected Catholicism and made it look like a force for good for once. To then take a series I liked (even on its own merits) and then use it to blasphemously attack Saints (Joan of Arc is apparently a boss) is too much for me.
Castlevania honoring God was on accident. (Fun fact, The Legend of Zelda is also a series that honored God accidentally) But even thought all the Christian symbolism in it was just for the aesthetics, we STILL weren't allowed to have that. Everything happening to the religious aspect of Castlevania has been destroyed and corrupted on purpose.

Tell yourself this, the Pharisees might have killed Castlevania, but the Word of God is eternal.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement being released next year and dropping tons of gameplay footage around the release of this frogslop is useful because I can just point at that and the case is made for me.

At this point it's clear that Konami doesn't really care about Castlevania at all. They wanted a quick cash-in on the license to capitalize on the fading relevance of the awful Netflix show before returning to their dark pachinko lairs to conspire to make more Silent Hill with Safe Black Dudes.

I'm glad Iga got out and I'm glad kickstarter worked out for him. We'll never get a Battle of 1999 game but I've made my peace with that.

Shaft simply got advantage of Richter's internal weakness, something even Dracula recognized he had. It wasnt something "big" enough to compromise who Richter was as a person but it was a crack in the armor enough to take advantage of it.

Richter became extremely guilty about it afterwards and the fact the Belmonts have demonstrated to not be beyond getting mind controlled (it happened 2 or 3 times by then) is one of the reasons the bloodline went into hiding for a couple of centuries.

Richter's fall was natural and it didnt ruin his character, Leon on the other hand? Well, I need to actually confirm what happened in the greentext was accurate or not before casting my judgement.
the difference is Leon is dead, so it might be easier to pull off.

The problem is what it is suppose to represent. Richter's fall is meant to be tragic while Leon's is meant to be deconstructive where it didnt need it, hell, it shouldnt be as thats the foundation of the Belmonts that came after.

And its not even the case I DONT think there couldnt be a Belmont that goes against the norm, in fact, I much looked forward to Victor Belmont because of that, being one that rejected the call to hunt the night as realistically there would be at least one major member of the bloodline that wouldnt willingly participate for whatever reason.

Rose's stuff about "Its not enough to hunt the night, we have to bring the dawn" is just absolutely redundant pseudo philosophical nonsense because ALL Belmonts are already doing that. Are we suppose to assume that she brought some sort of major change? Thats clearly not the case as all Belmonts behave the exact same as Trevor and Leon in terms of approaches to evil (also of course that its modern media that tries to muddle the lines between good and evil).

At best it is pointless, at worst it is insulting and pathetic.
