This is a small thing, but it galls me to see them use that slick Nickelodeon/Disney/CN style animation and go with that “I drew this in pen on the back of my notebook” logo.

I don't know if this thread to talk about cartoons spergs, but one thing that annoys me about these people is the obsession with adult jokes and content in kids shows (e.g. porn and jizzing refferences in ed, edd 'n eddy (https://www.ranker.com/list/dirty-jokes-in-ed-edd-n-eddy/cehudspeth, https://www.theodysseyonline.com/dirty-jokes-childrens-cartoons-that-flew-over-your-head)). Often the cartoon spergs that discuss it praise it for being an own against the conservativre networks.

Worse is how I have heard cartoon creators make a edgy cartoon for a kids network and then moan it cant be edgy enough. Like Retard, just work for adult swim, fox news or something.

Surprised anyone is positive about him - he was trying too hard in being edgy after amassing some audience, then had troll's remorse and tried being less "insensitive" - and he's friends with transgenders.

Most of these people who seem to see it as an "own" are people who retroactively are seeing "WAOW!!! How did I miss these jokes when I was a kid? Yeah, fuck you mom and dad!!!". Basically, they are the retards, and most likely the cartoon creators & producers only thought of a content for the parents to find some humour - not necessarily dirty/sexual humour, but only things adults would understand or perhaps relate.

As for the cartoon creators who made "edgy cartoons", yeah, these are just insufferable. Worse is when they just make their own adult cartoon, but seem like manchildren (Dan Harmon).

He tries to act like his edgy self but in a very, very sanitized way. I already talked about him and Dumbsville and how similar their careers were with them being some flavor of LGBT, neurodivergent, suffered some merit of trolls remorse (and how their autism led them to that remorse because their younger selves at the time reasonably couldn't handle so much negativity and caved in) and now does the occasional "correct opinions" joke or topic when necessary. All while still pretending they're these nonchalant forces to recon with.

It's one thing for cartoons of old to have adult jokes in them that no kid picked up on, it's another to make the adult jokes super fucking obvious that you might as well advertise you're a groomer. At least back then, any sex joke that happened to make it into the cartoon was implicit, not explicit, which modern writers don't understand or don't care to.

Most of the adult jokes were the parents alluding to something and is something actual parents do. Because writers back then usually had a kid or most of the staff had them.

I think "Safe-edgy" is the term that fits. They're still "edgy", but now toward a different demographic. Even if they claim that they joke about everyone now (Cartoonshi did that a lot), they still lean left.

It all went downhill from this video - even his editing and overall production style slowly devolved into video-essays, with less character and more droning (Or at least that is how it appears to me).

By now - it's just tiring to hear some random autist talk about grievances regarding children's media; When I was slightly younger, I thought that it's perhaps good that younger people (Ones like Cartoonshi were 16-17 at the time) were talking about animation and cartoons, since it was hogged up by adults who do not view the medium in the same way the actual intended audience does - as of now I think it's better to just talk less about such media, because people like Cartoonshi end up soaking in all the dirt from the adult reviewers or "community members", and it all loops back to needless drama, grooming, or something else unsightly. And all that surrounds children's animation (And likely some stuff written and produced by millenials for millenials) discourse online.

In a way it disappointing me. It's clear regardless of how he turned out, he's still someone that has a passion for animation and cartoons. He very well could've been someone that helped people get a better understanding of how to take the reputation of a cartoon, since it seemed a lot of his videos delved to some aspects of "Should we blindly hate this thing or give it a chance (if such chances are in there)?".

Nowadays in his post-trolls-remorse era of his persona, he seems to establish that further. Not because of what I said earlier but probably as a way to not upset the crowd too much. He had a lot of flack back then for his unfiltered opinions toward The Owl House. Probably the video(s) that eventually formed his trolls remorse. It's so tiring seeing all these cartoon reviewers being in some sort of slap fight or explaining a slap fight. This is how it is with art channels, too. It's almost a requirement to talk about "drama of the week that'll be forgotten in less than a day" in those communities and there are COUNTLESS channels for it BECAUSE of how constant it is. I could never live like that.

Both the art and cartoon reviewing community have always been filled with high functioning know-it-alls who crash out at the first sign of criticism or someone making a point they don't agree with. Now it's either profitable or as expected as putting it in a bingo card.
