I dislike both sides. I don't mean that to be cute or reddit-atheist-edgy. I don't mean that to be "muh both sides"-ism. I mean I think one of a religion that follows a pedophile who thinks the world is destined to entirely become subsumed by Dar al-Islam and the other insists that not only is their god the only/best one, but that the creator of the universe loves them the most and the rest of us exist to support the chosen people. They're killing each other over land that's shittier than the Mojave and for some goddamn reason my money is going to both sides.

The main character from that Wendell and Wild movie had fantastic models and good hair textures.

Thirty years ago Henry Selick made The Nightmare Before Christmas for Disney. It’s no surprise he’s dunking on them now. Particularly with those nightmarishly horrid character designs—are they trying to make people look like literal Zuni fetish dolls in the name of anti racism?

Honestly the designs fit with the film’s overall design. But yeah the blonde girl’s does look like a Nikki Minaj and a fish.

To be fair during the early years of the conflict it wasn't really a religious conflict like Islam vs Judaism it was an ethnic one there were a significant Christian Arab minority in Palestine

From what i understand, the designs were done by an artist named Pablo Lobato, who's illustrations have a very similar sort of cubist style.

Yeah I love the style in Wendell and Wild! I always thought they resemble wooden toy figures. It’s a shame the movie is mid.

And then there’s Pablo Picasso’s type that everyone recognizes. Cubism is basically breaking down art into sharp edged shapes during a time when art was full of detailed anatomy accurate paintings.

Holy shit that's making my own racism look positively tame in comparison, I seriously need to get myself in gear is this is how the niggers portray themselves. I've got fifty bucks that says in about one year's time the chief animator gets outed as a furfag with a focus on chimps, that's the only way to rationalize that midnight snack bitch's muzzle and lips.

I have a larger problem with this than its premise – it’s a completely worthless endeavour.

Claymation is one of the last unspoiled mediums of animation for a very good reason. Its intricate rules, as well as fact that it requires actual soul and effort to work, makes it the perfect deterrent against industry crazies. “Claymated” media wears its identity like a badge of honour through the medium’s limitations and imperfections and how they can be circumvented, most commonly with stylisation (see Aardman/ Tim Burton character designs). When you play it safe, as this screenshot suggests, it, ironically, ends up looking like a messy pile of shit (quite literally in some cases, look at that hair). Why bother wasting a ton or resources if you can’t go above and beyond with it?

May claymation live on through the ignorance and laziness of the modern animator.
 
I honestly legit don't believe that's actual claymation, least not until we can see it in full motion to truly gauge it, as well as see behind-the-scenes footage to prove it. It looks like it's in the "claymation" style but it's entirely likely it's still CGI. They can try and claim that LAIKA uses CGI, too, since you can see the PC setup in the behind-the-scenes footage, but they only do it in post to enhance the look (mostly for transitions and mayhaps for motion blur) or to remote control something like I believe was done for the giant skeleton in Kubo and the Two Strings. 99% of it is still practical stop-motion.
 
This thread makes me think animations and the people behind them will never be taken seriously... And well-deservedly so. How come they are even bigger self-important politisperging pricks than world-renowned pop stars and Hollywood-caliber artists?

They haven't been taken seriously ever since Chuck Jones died. (Well, technically when Walt died, but there were people who still cared and were beloved by the public. Do normies really recognize the names of Chris Sanders and Brad Bird, honestly?)
