So general motors official tiktok posted this. Its a video where a bunch of women stand in front of a camera, and this lady says, to the camera, "and these are the people who follow us who say in the comments "bring back pontiac," moving on". With the description saying "you know we make other cars, right?"

Such a disgrace to such a great brand, just piss on the corpse of pontiac, or Holden, Oldsmobile, Saab, Saturn, etc, etc.
Remember this post of gm making fun of their fanbase.
Well I'm late and gay for this post, but a couple days ago, gm once again in their complete ineptitude of nobody, decided to advertise the buick brand. "how," you may ask did they advertise buick? By showing off a pristine 1987 Buick Regal Grand National GNX, while playing TV Off by kendrick lamar, and then at the end to show what they actually sell, they show one of their new shitty "coupe" suvs called the envista.

Surprise to nobody, a lot of people online don't like this ad, because they try and pander everyone with the gnx thinking that buick makes cool cars, only to show dissapointment at the end.

Isuzu bros (@Darkholme's Dungeon)... is this a bad idea?

2001 Isuzu Vehicross with 118,000 miles, but from Maine so Maine rust. Needs power steering hose and I've heard the "torque on demand" system is unreliable but it looks so cool. Mrs. Minto has a reliable car, so I get to have two unreliable ones, right?

I don't have a vehicross but I've worked on one. Are you going to run it into the ground for fun and junk it, or spend proper time to make it run? Because your choice branches out to how much work you need to do on that vehicle, and no matter what, all vehicrosses need some work.
In re TOD issues: You might need to replace the ATF more frequently than most vehicles, the TOD malfunction due to the clutch plate if the ATF is old.

The good:
1) It's a vehicross, you can dunk on trooper/bronco/jeep retards (unless it's the Turbo-diesel Trooper, sorry), because it's a vehicross
2) It's a vehicross, you can dunk on trooper/bronco/jeep retards, because it's a vehicross
3) You can dunk on trooper/bronco/jeep retards, because it's a vehicross
4) Drives like the best of a Miata and a offroader
5) Non interference engine so no catastrophic damage (common isuzu L) if the timing belt slips, this one isn't high enough (usually goes ~125k) to have a timing belt slip.
6) 4L30E with a transmission cooler will tow decently (well above the GVWR lmao)
7) You can park in a small spot compared to the gigantic modern day brodozers
8 ) 4L30E is common with GM shitboxes and ironically is plenty (Keep the vehicross 4L30E because there's some special parts)
9) When it dies you can sell it for parts and jew everyone just like they jewed you ✡️

The bad:
1) 3.5L burns a fuck ton of oil, worse than Miata at times and can't be solved without a rebuild (piston issue).
2) ABS module likes to die because its shit
3) It also needs a new coat of paint from what I can tell.
4) Leather work is meh.
5) There's a common "wet carpet" issue caused by a gromet in the firewall falling out. Since it's in a rust bucket shithole state, check the wiring gromets in the firewall, if its fell through consider running (rust on the above ground floorboard issues)
6) EGR likes to die and its a $250 part. Consider bypassing if you don't live in CARB testing shithole
7) Keep track of tire wear per axles, if the wheel on an axle is out of whack it will cause TOD activation and extra strain on system
8 ) Steering rack plastic wears and is a pain to rebuild
9 ) It's not one of the 86(!) Ironmans in the USA

The ugly:
1) The vehicross metal body is a modified Isuzu Trooper body. Good luck finding one.
2) Plastic parts (eg; fenders) are OOS and were made in limited numbers so expect up to $500+ for something like that. The headlight is also impossible to find (needs to regrind from the pic).
3) Bumper brace is metal and likes to rust. Check if its gone because again impossible to find.
4) You feel like you need to baby it because these were rare.

The todo if you buy:
1) Change fluids
2) Change timing belt
3) Clean the PCV/EGR
4) Flush the fluid 4L30E if you can, the trans weak and prone to dying (less on the vehicross then on the trooper), try not to push it too hard like a real truck.
5) Add a real tow hitch lmao.

Todo if you want it to last (more extensive)
1) Rebuild engine with the 10 hole piston to stop oil burning (original was 6).
1B) Swap to a 4JJ1-TC(X) and gain ~4hp... But diesel.
2) Rebuild 4L30E
3) Tear down the upholstry/carpet, check for rust issues
4) Fix any rust issues
5)Repaint the exterior
6) Add Aussie ARB lockers and/or LSD diff (You can swap it with the G80 rear axle tag on an old Trooper lmao, check the gear ratio though)
Too bad the automatic lockers on the Trooper/Pup aren't cross compataible with the Vehicross. That would be a fucking monster.
Those things are dope, and have a cult following for a reason. I think it has a great stance already. Needs headers.
I'm more of a pickup guy since I work in a field often, but those were really good fun drives. Sadly rust is a common Isuzu issue.

That ad was atrocious. I saw it on instagram and most comments were negative. I believe the Envista was the cheapest "domestic" car available a few years ago, might still be now. It's a 3cyl shitbox. The US auto industry is unbelievable.

Sadly I'm still alive, and my Sexus is running fine! @Dean Pentel it's finally fucking nice and this week I'll get the Lotus out and some pics. My life's been pretty god damn awful, lately.

Sexus is running so nice on 9 psi. I'm very happy despite it bringing joy to my wife.

My dad said you know my wrx is like 140 miles and I think it's leaking oil, so maybe you can do an STi swap for me, it's about the same getting a JDM used motor than getting a reman stock.

Like the old saying never buy a pick up, never get a lift. I'm going to burn my house down to spite everyone who drinks MY beer out of MY fridge and changes oil.

I miss 90s Honda.

Four wheel double wishbone (on most things).
High revving naturally aspirated engines.
Best shifting manual gearboxes ever.

:(
I have daydream fantasies that Honda might one day decide to bring back the 4th gen or 5th gen Accord exactly as it was, just with frame reinforcements and a backup camera to adhere to modern safety standards. And then sell it as their cheapest model because those are smaller than a new Civic both inside and out.

Or maybe do that with the 1st gen Accord hatchback from the 70s, I like those for some autistic reason.

Will likely never happen but a man can dream.....

I am going to change the LSD and ratio for sexus. When we got it we knew the TH350 would be bad but just want little longer, it's not as bad the highway we expected it's the around time now we have power it kinda just sits low gear.

It needs some sways it feels heavy but damn it's not bad. I also want to tighten up throttle. It's so close to being badass. Not just badass if I fixed these things and gave this car to your grandma around town she'd say it's cool and cozy and fast. For something that won't need to break 45 it's so close!

Today was really nice, and it's raining again FFS. I had a wonderful ride in my Elise, also got it sideways to save a squirrel. I know it was part of cabin fever etc but today alone just going to fucking Lowes to get a wood glue and banging like a mad man (while mostly following traffic laws) .. it was worth it.

I promise will be a photoshoot lol. This week will be nuts going to 80 and getting snow... same week.

Sorry for double posting, but were having a problem that doesn't seem to be an issue overall.

I have EVERYTHING set for 7 psi on the sexus, it's running 9. Still awful weather and I owe @Dean Pentel some pics of my Elise. I just learned apparently aside being crazy cheap Costco gas apparently has the best detergents etc.

Oil changed my bro's girls truck well he did. I was ready to lose my shit. I have everything tidy and all, they had it on the lift he couldn't find the oil wrench and was chewing me out. Nigger you're in MY house on MY lift and don't like how MY tools are laid out?

He took a few breaths and sorted it with me. All good, I'm over it too but I just shared since I'm a hobbisest and he's been a professional who's worked on some real nice shit. So actually our little 2 min fight helped he showed me how he likes things, a few little things I changed because there's smart and preference.

What I'm saying is no matter how good you are at working on shit or understanding stuff, someone who lives it for a job has a different mindset and keep your ears open.

Friend is at Texas2k,, fucking 5 second cars... 5 second 1/4 and tagged. Stock corvette zr1x beat a demon. GM's track car beats Dodges drag car.

Remember when doing basic car maintenance was relatively easy since most cars then were largely standardized for parts and labor? If you have a new car, they may have engineered it a specific way.
2016+ and especially 18+ entered some hard enshittifineering and it's just sad to see. Can't buy rubber covers for things like rear hatch buttons from dealers now - gotta buy the entire $500 lock mechanism. Everything is designed to disintegrate right after warranty and have "safety" bullshit that each costs $2000+ or the whole car goes into limp mode. So much unnecessary bullshit.

I'm not going to lie, that roo bar on that little red land cruiser is fucking sick.

Damn that audio overlay was ass, but bash bar is mandatory on anything even remotely resembling a truck/ute because fuck anything smaller or slower than you. Personal anecdote from the owner's manual from my 50s classic - to change a flat, you use the included farm jack right against the bumper since it's bolted to the frame to lift the corner you need to change the wheel on. The thing is a freaking tank.

@Dean Pentel finally a start lol.
Blocked out my smog and safety sticker and let Ai touch photos up.

I'll get more now it's finally fucking nice out. I have a spare boost gauge I've yet to install.

My dumb ass is looking at another car this weekend.
