Genesis has been fucking around with a sports wagon concept it's kind of cool to be honest I don't like the headlights but I could see myself driving one of the interior isn't completely awful.

I would also have the unique title of being one of the 5 Genesis owners in the entire United States of America.
They released more concept art of this today. To my shock the interior isn't terrible either, buttons, screen blended with the dash instead of sticking out, not a fan of the color though but I'm sure they'd offer alternatives. Really like the tail lights too. I would buy this if they built it, sadly I don't think they will.

Sad it won't drop. I've been considering a Genesis for my next car because they seem great value for money.

I wasn’t planning on buying two cars in as many months, but some senile old fuck hit my car while it was parked and the front fell off. While that car was successfully towed beyond the environment, I bought something new(er). It’s a serious upgrade.

It’s a 2013 Holden Calais V VF, with the LFX V6 and a 6 speed automatic. Either 280 or 310 horsepower, seemingly depending on who you ask. This engine is a heavily tweaked and improved version of the initial 3.6L V6 that had timing chain and sludge issues.

I got the car for $9k because it has 324,000km on the clock, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at or driving it. Every last toy works, it drives perfectly, and the engine runs like a raped ape. It’s had every service done on time, and when they ran out of pages in the book, they started stamping the back of the book instead.

I think I did well on this car.

Reminds me of Ingrid Bergman.

Why do people have Dodge Chargers and try to drive them in snow?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Qu5ssICbULY
You could not had picked a worst vehicle for your living conditions.
Skill issue. Basically everyone drove rear wheel drive cars in snow before the 1980s, because front-wheel-drive wasn't commonplace back then. The simple solution is to put weight in the trunk (typically sandbags) and not drive like a retard.

Dodge Chargers are kind of based as far as recent cars go. Decent looking RWD V8 sedan with ok performance stock and good if modified, reasonably good and durable chassis. They're basically the only game in town too. What else are you gonna buy from that era? A G8 GXP, SS or CTS-V at twice the price? Late model BMW or Mercedes which will make a Charger's reliability and repair cost look like a Toyota in comparison? Sure, chargers attract niggatry, but what doesn't these days outside of classic cars.

I'm thinking of doing some sound deadening on the fire wall now everything is out I mean Sexus will be a daily it's a few lbs I haven't come up with what to do for exhaust but do want it more mild. Never used the stuff before. Any brands or tips? Maybe spray the bay when it's all out, but then again I kinda don't care.
I followed this guide and everything seemed to work. I bought all generic stuff and it's a lot quieter. Only problem was the generic CLD sheets not being very sticky.

Nissan has decided not to kill off the Altima just yet, as it will still be sold for the 2026 MY. The decision to reduce it to just 2 trims (SV and SR) does ask if Nissan still has ton of Altima parts and is trying to use them all, or if they'll release a new Altima in the future.

The Chinese version of the Altima, called the Teana, was recently revealed, but I don't think they'll release it for the US market, since the Teana has nicer interior/exterior materials, i.e. the Teana has LED rear lights while the US Altima still uses halogens.

Well, one month and 3,000km later, the new Holden is doing great. I changed the oil as it was due, and the front brakes are terrible - the rotors are badly warped. I’ll be doing those next week. Other than that, the car drives perfectly.

The only real issue with any of the driveline is that the cooling system isn’t building pressure. It’s not overheating, even on a 38C day in stop/start traffic. It’s also not losing or consuming coolant, it’s just not building pressure. I had a look at the radiator cap and it has a loose piece in it, so I’m gonna throw a new radiator cap at it and that should take care of things.

It’s an awesome car. Ever since I rented one several years ago, I knew I wanted to buy one, and now I have.

Why the fuck are people siphoning oil through the narrow dipstick hole?! Are there cars being sold today with only a dipstick?

This isn't even the only one, if you filter for dipstick there's so many retards doing this

Ignore the Holden servicing schedule. If you stick with the 15k / 12m service intervals, the timing chain rollers will eventually gum up, causing timing chain failure. I'd go with 10k / 6m max (whichever comes first) using a decent synthetic oil such as Penrite or just buy a Falcon instead.

You'd think Holden would have learned from the Astra timing belt debacle way back at turn of the century, where they had to reduce the official belt change interval from 120k to 60k on account of belts regularly letting go just north of 60k, but nope. Though to be fair, Holden's retardation was handed down from GM in Detroit, so it's not like they had much say in the matter.

I've noticed that too especially when you sort the reviews by "most helpful." Amazon the storefront along with its reviewers have reached bottom barrel in quality. Often times if it's a specific well known product like a particular electronic sensor, I'll search for reviews on other forums first before considering the Amazon reviews.

Well, the LFX which is in the late model VEs and VFs have many design changes and improvements over the original Alloytec, chiefly here the PCV system and the timing system. The LFX engines aren’t immune to these issues, but they occur much less frequently. That said, I’m keeping Penrite 5W-30 full synth in it, and I will be doing it every 10,000km. I just did my oil change about 1500km ago, but it’s at 327k.

I’m gonna do it again at 330,000, and keep doing it every 10k after that. I reckon 10,000km with the type of driving I do, which is a lot of highways, and even sans highways, I’m almost always in the car for long periods of time, so that lets the engine get really hot and burn off some contaminants in the oil and whatnot.

If I were doing lots of short trips? Definitely 7,500km. But I don’t drive like this, so I reckon 10k will be fine, no?

Yeah, the original iteration of the HFV6 (Alloytec) was a dog, but even with the improvements I'd strongly suggest a more frequent service interval.

Yeah, 10k service oil change intervals with high quality oil... sweet as. Whilst I'm still not convinced that the HFV6 will ever be as bulletproof as the old Buick 3800 or a Barra, you're doing all the right things to give the engine its best shot.

I remember when 10k / 6m service intervals were the norm. To be fair it's not just Holden where the 15k / 12m service intervals come back and bite the second or third owner on the arse; most of the Euro brands are just as optimistic with their service intervals too. And yeah... plenty of people bitch about Toyota's 10k / 6m service intervals, but when was the last time you saw a Corolla made this century broken down on the side of the road?

I'd rather spend an extra hundred bucks a year on oil and filters than thousands on getting a fucked motor fixed or replaced because the previous owner was a bozo who did 5k a year and only got their car serviced every 3 years because they conveniently ignored the "whichever occurs first" part of the 15k / 12m service interval...
