Toyota has expanded the V35A engine recall for Tundras and Lexus LXs, and Lexus GXs are also being recalled. The hybrid versions still haven't been recalled yet, even though those also have grenading engines too.

The use of undersized turborcharged engines in non performance vehicles and its consequences have been a disaster for the motoring public.

Tracks with the avatar. Has it yet been relieved of its wheezy 305 or if you're lucky 350? LS swaps are God's gift to turd gen and other malaise era muscle car owners.

The issues with the V35A have happened with the LS500 too, but I don't remember Toyota recalling them for those engine issues, since they sell a lot less of those compared to Tundras.

Was talking in the General Kiwichat and the topic of cars came up, @Goatchoker wanted me DAWX my 1963 Jeep Ika (essentially a CJ6 with some slight differences) rocking the original 4L 4 cylinder Continental 151 and so figured I might as well, me and my buds call it the "jip"

Big ass tires (had to reinforce the tire carrier because these fat fucks would actually bend it at full extension)

There's definitively a big ship of Theseus situation going on with the Jeep but I'm trying to keep the modifications both tasteful and especially practical, the jip is an unbelievably fun vehicle to drive around with and right now I'm working on a new internal cage that I can put the soft top on, and at some point I'll switch it over to be an actual 4x4 as a 4x2 only Jeep just feels wrong even if it's how it came from the factory.
And if the intrusive thoughts win I'll swap the engine to a Toyota Hilux turbo diesel engine

My silencer finally rotted out and gave up and the small exhaust leak turned into Thor's hammer. It's all fixed now but while I was under the car I thought I'd do some maintenance. The rear subframe was replaced by the last owner and it was a bit rusty so I thought I'd give it a clean with a wire brush and a lick of paint. My little Mazda is a good car, maybe even a great car even but fuck me does it rust like a mother fucker.

Anyway I fell asleep under the car while painting. That was a great sleep too.

check this video out, its a european guy, with a european chevy s10 extended cab, and he "test drives" the s10 by full sending it on the european roads and also what looks like a dirt track in the woods
Edit: This guy goes by rust bucket motorsports on youtube, he does these test drives and time attacks in vehicles like: the brabus smart fourfour, a b2 and b5 vw passat, a ek honda civic hatchback, a kia cerato, and the latest one, the chevy s10. pretty good videos imo

Genesis has been fucking around with a sports wagon concept it's kind of cool to be honest I don't like the headlights but I could see myself driving one of the interior isn't completely awful.

I would also have the unique title of being one of the 5 Genesis owners in the entire United States of America.

Love the wagon. That said, I don't know about you assessment of Genesis sales - the sedans aren't particularly common, but based on what I see out about, they're doing pretty well with their SUV/CUVs.

Maybe it is just my area I see more old suzukis than Genisis vehicles.

Well, I wasn’t planning on buying two cars in as many months, but fate twisted my hand here when some numpty hit my daily while I was parked, effectively writing the car off. So I upgraded to one of these - a 2013 Holden VF Calais V. What an upgrade it is!

It’s got 325,000km on it, but every last gadget works, there is not a single squeak or rattle anywhere, and the thing still runs like a raped ape. It’s had every service done on time, every time. They ran out of pages in the book so they started stamping the back cover of the book. It’s been very well looked after its entire life, and it shows.

I think I did alright for $9k AUD!

(P.S. photo not of actual car. Same colour and trim though.)

Their SUV sales have cannibalized their Sedan sales to the point that they may be killing off the G70 after the 2026 MY, which would be one more luxury sedan dead to go with the numerous other dead sedans, i.e. Acura TLX, Infiniti Q50 (although the Japanese have been going through the motions with them), Volvo S60/S90 (?), etc.

And for those of you living in places where Chinese cars are sold, hows the reception to them? People love to spin about how good they are since "they save the environment without funding Elon", but Chinese car makers and the CCP heavily crack down on criticism of them.

Third gen F bodies are dope, congrats what are the specs?

So the Sexus is on the lift, I figured if I do all that why not use the engine stand, so I yanked the motor... now I really got to get this bitch back together.. with boost!

I can't get over how much nicer it is to work on things when all apart all the space etc.

Got my dad a big rear sway for his WRX for Xmas because I'm a good son.

Almost stock berlinetta with the 5.0 305. Custom dual side exhaust the previous owners put in. Unfortunately it's the automatic and analog dash and not the extremely fancy digital dash they had on some of the berlinettas.
It's pretty fun but slow. Currently waiting on spacers for my wheels since I found some nice 'vette wheels that'll look good on it. Then I'll be in the market for a new engine.

imho I don't think those 305s are worth even a penny into them. The trans on them can hold some power if you were thinking going just to a 350 but you mentioned LS, so not an easy fit, I think you can adapt them but why really.

I'm thinking of doing some sound deadening on the fire wall now everything is out I mean Sexus will be a daily it's a few lbs I haven't come up with what to do for exhaust but do want it more mild. Never used the stuff before. Any brands or tips? Maybe spray the bay when it's all out, but then again I kinda don't care.

The new Toyota sports cars look nice...if a bit expensive.

I've cracked on with my running tab on owning costs for my Aston this year, and it came up to just over 4000 EUR, which included a service, new brake discs, and new tyres, so not too bad to be honest. I'll put it up for sale soon as I want a DBS next.
