The fucking guy with the "With Carmax since 2025" badge was about to have me sign over this pile of shit car for 9 fucking grand when the GM walked up like this, pulled him aside and took the paperwork.

I am so fucking pissed.

Car max etc is set on KBB math. I saw a guy on YT, who took in exotics for the lulz. Since it didn't have a easy google worth, guy was getting offers for like 12K for a 0 mile new R8 Bently etc.

I get why they exist and work, funny enough my bro sold a car there and got a great deal but.. I just fucking hate this retard close mind AI scan math for things.

More clicks from the honda, so need a new axle..again. I have had (and ABUSE) gold line, free repairs. But I can do the swap in my sleep. I just am getting old and tired of swapping parts non stop because 72 HP car over 200 HP axles get mad.

I was too poor in college to get un return no warrenty huge thick (no homo) gator axles. But in my 40s I'm tired of swapping a pair every few months.

Speaking of car stuff, might buy my dad a set of rims... because I'm just a good son.

Ok so I need advice. Since my car loves to be the center of attention it has decided to start playing a new funny game with me. When it is cold and I first turn it on my fuel now display half of the actual amount until after 10 minutes or so of driving. I'm not even sure how to start with this issue and I'm getting nothin on Google either because of Google sucking ass now or it being a rare issue. With winter coming up I'm really not trying to see what happens if the car starts thinking the tank is empty when I'm heading home from work at midnight.

No codes, no nothing. It will actually gradually go up in real time while I am driving until displaying the normal level. This has made my displayed fuel efficiency also very interesting to say the least.

the resistors in the fuel sender are knackered. the way the car measures how much fuel you've got is with a float connected to some resistors. as the fuel level changes the fuel float moves and this change the resistance value. some part of your system is knackered or worn.

so when the car and fuel is cold the system under reads the fuel level , with running the car and returning hot fuel to a cold tank you warm up the tank/fuel/sender and this changes the resistance and causes the gauge to start reading the correct level.

it shouldn't cause the engine to die as it only cares how much fuel pressure it can get from the tank pump and engine pump. but you never know.
picture of a generic sender , the resistors are on the hinge at the bottom.

I remember hearing about a guy who had a tuned BMW 335i. Single turbo, all of the supporting mods. He hurt the engine, put most of the stock parts back on it, changed the oil, cleared the codes, and turned it in. They gave him a good offer and were none the wiser other than the heavy clutch

Also, those are some really fragile axles.

The Honda Prelude is back as a hybrid and it has the same horsepower it had 20 YEARS AGO
Did you expect anything different? Honda hasn't made anything worth looking at since they killed the S2000. That's what? 15 years? Ugly, steadily heavier civic type Rs, a hideous NSX, and the rest is just regular traffic.

The Civic Type R is arguably more hideous than the NSX reboot. The latest one is uglier than a hatful of arseholes.

How close were you getting the nozzle to it? I don't like to get a pressure washer any closer than a couple of feet with the wide fan nozzle, and I really only use it because the foam dispenser I have requires it and is great for pre soaking to get dirt off.
I've always preferred to use a foam cannon all over first, then rinse with the 40° (white) nozzle, then re-foam and go at it with a wool mitt before rinsing again. When I've tried pre-rinsing before the first foam, it seems to get less of the surface dirt off and makes the actual wash take a bit longer.

Also, a leaf blower is awesome for making the drying process take about half as long as normal.

Any cool new vehicles coming out? Oh it's a subscription-based startup? Nevermind...
This is why I'm hoarding B-Series Falcons. Every time one gets hit by a kangaroo, an LPG tank inspection is due, or it gets too rusty, I'll park it up and go buy another one while they're still cheap. The half a container full of Barras I'll end up with as a result will be part of my retirement fund when I ship it to the States.

I'd suggest doing something similar with Crown Vics/Grand Marquis/Town Cars.

In spite of the car economy remaining in the gutter, I'm landing my sights on any vehicle from Japan after 2000 but before 2015. Mainly for parts support and getting as much longevity I can drag it out with as possible. But even cars from that era are starting to deplete, unfortunately.

It's very hard with this job that I have at the moment, where I know holding on for a better position can give me enough cash for better things. On the other hand, I'll definitely miss out on a few decent deals I can find over on FB Marketplace.

A rock and a hard place doesn't even begin to describe the experience of getting cars used. I know I've been locking onto older Imprezas for something that is fairly cheap for what it's asking for while still having some inventory on spare authentic parts to use. I'm very tempted to get this silver 2.5 RS from 2002, it's not under 100k in mileage but I would like to have my own fun, tempting choices it all is...

Imprezas with blown engines near a military base with basic training are a dime a dozen. Find something like that and get an engine from Japan. I believe they're taxed heavier at about 60k miles for emissions, so there's a glut of gently used long blocks for Japanese cars

My friend was showing me what he found on Cars & Bids the other day and there were many surprising deals. We were mainly looking at German cars tho so I am not that sure if the same applies for Japanese brands that are more saught after.

I remember a lot of folks talking about importing cheap used Japanese cars a year or two ago. Basically the regulations around importing cars 25+ years old into the US are a lot laxer so the cost wouldn't be too overwhelming. Many used 90s Japanese cars are being auctioned at very reasonable prices (when converted to USD) and mileage (Japanese don't drive as much) so the overall cost of importing is actually not that bad.

It is a lot of hassle and I am not sure if things have changed a lot in the last year. But if you really want a nice, authentic JDM that might be something you wanna take a look at.

Toyota Hilux Champ but I'm sure it will never be available in the US.

Meh, not much missed. Toyota design sucks so much ass these days, this thing looks like some old video game vehicle. Couldn't make a cheap truck that looks half normal, had to look like some dated iteration of a futuristic thing that you'd stomp on in a mechwarrior game. Old tacomas and pre-tacoma pickups are insanely sought after and instead of a nod to them the cab on this shit looks like a side by side with a body kit.

Volvo just ended production of the V90 estate and the V60(Last wagon they have) interior hasn't been refreshed like the rest of it's line. Volvo is going full SUV and killing off it's wagon.

IT'S NEVER BEEN MORE JOEVER I FUCKING HATE THE CHINESE NUKE CHINA NOW (:_(
